If we are going to challenge for the league we need to be winning it on points....goal difference probably not going to be a factor for us this season.
Was shouting pointing all through the game,I thought this early in the second half. I saw Dias shouting over his shoulder telling all the defence where they needed to be.
Thanks for clearing up something for me
Didn't realise that the S in FFS stood for Showpony.
We can't win the league with this kind of performances
we are average
TheI tend to not have the thought 'Well played' to the opposition. Even Southampton have a team of multi-millionaires living in gigantic properties in the most select part of town (Sandbanks etc) - so should play like players being paid millions a year. Most championship players are super wealthy as well.
A really enjoyable game and well played Southampton. It was refreshing to see an opponent take the game to City.
We were more eager and passed faster today than any other game we have played this season. But, we had to be, as Saints (or Spurs ?) are probably the most improved team so far in this unpredictable season.
Great goal, excellent breaks in the 2nd half and the back 4 were resilient.
But, once again, cannot understand why Pep only made 1 sub. We were hanging on at the end. Bernado and KDB rang their socks off whilst pressing the Southampton defence. Both Bernie and KDB looked exhausted when they missed their late chances.
City were crying out for fresh legs in the last 20 minutes (Saints used 14 players remember ), so why was Foden, who is full of energy, not brought on ?
I did not think we would win this game, but the team's atitude and performance deserved it.
Hope we play the squad/younger players on Tuesday as I think today's team will be knackered. Fernie as captain with Ake, Foden, Doyle, Steffan and Palmer starting...
I dont particularly like pragmatic but l DO so like 3 points out of all those stolen by massed defences in recent times.Signs that Pep is turning this around with pragmatic performances. The game has changed and Pep seems to be transforming the team. As far as games go in this pandemic it was one of the best.
I was thinking the second sounded like foxFennec Fox Showpony is the family-friendly version
