Saints (A) Post Match Thread

Feels good having a strong and resilient defence. We all wanted a second goal but Southampton put a lot into that game and played very well. Not our best performance as a team but many decent performances from a good few players - Bernardo deserves a mention for the sheer amount of energy he threw into the game! Really pleased to see Stones get a string of games and play solid in each one!

Tell you who I was thinking about today - Yaya in his prime! He would have taken that game by the scruff of the neck!

A great hard worked for 3 points!

A brilliant 3 points against a very cohesive and in form side.

The Centre Half partnership - superb, especially the reinvention of John Stones.

I thought Bernardo was much better today too,up until the last 10mins anyway.......he needs a run now.

Effort and desire was difficult to criticise.

We still struggle with decision making, why the fuck do we take that extra toch and overplay everything??

Our fitness continues to be an issue, also Peps sub use continues to baffle.

Mike Dean is fucking useless. He let alot of their niggles go and cracked down on ours, and where the fuck were 5 mins from?

Overall......a 7/10 and a great platform to build upon.

MOTM John Stones
Three or four times, Raheem in acres of space on the left with a diagonal run into the box and we're screaming 'Just run', we want him to go one on one with the GK. But he takes two steps forward, stops, allows enough time for the defenders to get back in position, turns to his right into the nearest group of defenders, loses it and we're defending a counter attack.

And that Bernardo miss - reminded me of footy in the garden when my kids were toddlers - when they kick the ball a total distance of about two feet.

Kevin sweating blood for us. Ruben clearing the ball - what a player - he joins = we stop conceding.

Ive just posted in the Dias thread to say exactly that, the lad is awesome.

Fantastic result if we`d have lost that game the sky would have fallen in. 10/10

Good grit shown by the team. 8/10 only really Bernardo running his bollocks off pressing though.

performance 4/10.

Foden getting shunned. When he is played, its usually out of position.
