They certainly did mate, doyles, boyles, gassys, tex and the 2 eddies were mates of ours from the south side

was you there when that little incident kicked off in the ship, when one of utd's so called top lads(from salford)found out the hard way that its not always true about safety in numbers?[/quote]

No not at the incident but know of it, I know all the lads you mention and others include Scotty (with no front teeth) really funny lad, now living in OZ, Chod, also now living in OZ, Kenny, I believe moved to the Isle of Skye ? Pete and Jimmy Mac, Stiff,D Glaysher, Tetley, Paul E. Was talkin with Gassy at one of the Euro games he's living in Norway now married with kids he was over with some Norwegian Blues and was with one of the Boyles. A reunion would be a top idea.

Sunday nights in the Prince were awesome with the Jam on the jukebox all night.

Funniest City away memory was Port Vale in the cup, about 15 of us in a transit van, half of us in the City end standing, half of us in the Port Vale seats, City score and it kicks off in the seats, all the Blues including our lads are marched around the pitch, we meet with them at the front, they are all covered in Spit and bruises, everyone is back together but no Stiff.

We all scour their seats and spot him sat right at the end of a row, right amongst all their boys, we all gather in the corner shouting up at him. STIFF ! STIFF !

Everyone starts looking back to see, Stiff (looking very worried) joins in and looks behind with the Vale lads, next we start singing to the tune of "lets all have a disco" "STIFF IS A CITY FAN, STIFF IS A CITY FAN NA NA NA NA" The Vale fans are all now trying to suss out which lad. We then start helping them singing "STIFF HAS GOT A GREEN COAT ON NA NA NA NA", The final nail in his coffin was "STIFF HAS GOT A BEARD NA NA NA NA" He was finally sussed and had to fight his way down to the front and thrown in the City end, he was cheered into the City end, I'll never forget his words "YOU FUCKIN BASTARDS" Happy Days !!

My last boss who lived about a mile from the rags ground in the Stretford/Firswood area was always complaining about the amount of City regulars in his pub , said it was 'full' of them .... he told me he stormed out a few times when they kept switchin' the telly off as he was watchin' rags games!

And my sister-in-law who lives in the Lancaster Road area of Salford , and is always wearin' her rag shirt , was bombarded with allsorts of stuff in her garden by loads of passing City fans in cars after the rags had won a derby ....... it also kicked off bigstyle after a derby in a pub in Worsley , so there are definetely City fans about in all those areas!

City have got over 1300 season ticket holders in Salford...no where near as many as manchester, Tameside and Stockport..but a decent amount. Always been a tidy number of salford lads at City..Lower Broughton and Swinton to name two areas.

Was BD involved in some roof top protest on his house recently...he mentioned something to me a few weeks back but we were hammered and I didnt get the full story.

i've been on the end of some heated verbals when i lived on cross lane in the nineties . usually in the corp , the flemish , the paddock , fraggle rock ( the winston ) , pied piper and the woolie . christ i felt like general custer at times .
some top lads but a fuckin' nightmare on derby day .
i use to see this girl who lived in clifton and her old man was a blue . use to go in the brittania ( top road ) which had city pictures all round the pub . top little boozer that did A.T's every weekend . eccles/winton always seemed to have plenty of blues in the area.

Higher broughton, Little hulton ,walkden thats my last 25 years. the rags in salford complain about the big stand at the swamp. it blocks the tv reception. Salford is blue.

The two Eddies.....Lee E amd Eddie M....
Paul E.....he's a red, brother of Lee E.

We all used to knock about together. I remember it kicking off in town between Utd and City. One of the younger lads was getting a hiding from some Reds. The United lads from Broughton (Waitey, Boo, Godsell, Brammy, Ordo etc) saw this and started lending a hand. Lower Broughton lads always stuck together.

Not saw Gassy for a few years. Last time was at the Willows a couple of years ago. Others I aint seen for a while are the Boyles...Tom & Mike.

All good lads.

Your thinking of dave and Fred horrocks

Salford born and bred, beat this for a story, went to a primary school in Ordsall for a couple of years, first day playing football in the yard, teacher says "come to training" turned up the only kid in sky blue with about twenty dirty red twats all about 2 / 3 years older aswell lookin at me like I was a fuckin alien, teacher does a few drills and then says pick two teams for a game, he made all the reds on my team turn their shirts inside out, 1976 kits, 9 red twats all in Pink, not best pleased with the new boy in blue. Not very clever dressed in pink trying to be Gordon fucking Hill and Stuart Pearson, got chased home !!!!

Grew up in Lower Broughton where City had a very good set of lads in the late 80,s with regular away days, The Bridge, Prince of Wales and The Griffin was easily 50 / 50 in the late 80's, going to away days trapped in a van with the likes of Brad Doyle was an experience to behold.

S A L F O R D , Salford Blues MCFC was our chant !! and pissed a few Blues off, but anyone will tell you Lower Broughton had a good set of lads in the late 80's

Not seen Doyle for years. He wasn't caught up in that fracas that happened in Yates, in Swinton, where that father got stabbed, years back, was he? What was the name of those brothers who had that door? I'm sure one was called 'Dave'...

i was there,it was after the 3-3 at Maine rd when Mcclair scored 2 late goals, the guy in question is what you might call a weekend gangster,he has a full time job but just loves to be seen as bad,a couple of our Utd pals managed to get us out of the place,we were totally outnumbered

Withington born, moved to irlam in 66 wen I was three, loads of rags cos of a Salford overspill, apart from that we have a good number of blues, about 250 in our local supporters club took 3 coaches to wembley again, ours got the two windows smashed great day though.round irlam and cadishead there's loads of plastic rags, who think going to a football match is the local pub with there fuckin shitty rag shirt on,we give them stick and it soon shuts them up,anyway we started up our supporters club last October, and it's been a great tool to draw out fellow blues, and the more success we have the louder we get.

Im from Little Hulton, most of the pubs here/walkden/worsley are red but still loads of blues knocking about.

Born and bred in Salford (Went to Clarendon High School) ... not many city fans in there either ... but then again ... not many red twats that actually went to matches either and 20 years on ... Surprise ... those red twats I went to school with still don't go to the swamp

To me being a proud proud salfordian and a blue has made my love for city stronger ! I was 1 of 2 city fans in my primary school st pauls on cross lane and when cantona got done for kickin that palace fan our school got chosen to go train with him at the cliff as part of his community service ! We all had our school kit on but underneath I had my city shirt on ! When I scored I ran up to cantona pulling my shirt over my head shouting at him CITY CITY CITY to which he laughed and patted me on the head (FRENCH TWAT) My dad has took me since I was 2 had a season ticket for 25 years we go home and away europe everywhere city is our life all thru school well all my life I've had shit from freinds and people sayin ur from salford and ur a blue ??? But every time sum1 says something or says why don't u support united ! I say unless u are a blue u don't know what its like and It makes my love city even more ! This past couple of years have been fantastic and when we won the fa cup it was like nothing I've ever experianced and to share that with my dad who has took me from being a kid was the best moment in my life and is something I will never forget as long as I live ! If you keep the faith and keep beliveing in our cause ur dreams can come true ! M.C.F.C.SALFORD END OF

top bloke - sorry how can you feel so angry.

I am not angry in the least, I love City and have been a fan as long as I can remember (and coming from Urmston it was not easy loads of RAGS) I have had worse weeks supporting City, demotion etc, just bide your time have patience Rome was not built in a day

OK agree with your post but could people please stop using "Rome was not built in a day" it very commenator.

I don't like the usual cliche but WTF does 'it very commenator' mean?

I went out with a girl for five years who grew up in Langworthy where Chimney Pot Park is now, then she moved to Little Hulton (her Auntie Wynne has the Cyn's Tavern pub). I met a fair few Blues over the years there. I also worked at Albion High School (Lower Broughton) for three years and although it was a majority of Rags with the kids (almost none went to games), there were still a lot of Blues and the ones there were pretty much all went to games with their Dad's or uncle.

There's LOADS more Blues in Salford than we get credit for!

been interesting listening to all the comments on here.Born in Hope Hospital, went to Salford Grammar, late brother went to Clarendon.Played for Woolpack and Flemish Weaver. Both teams full of reds except Foxy(ordsall
) and Robbo(duchy)The amount of stick us salford blues get is unbelievable but a great craic winding them up.Never ever let them win an argument even when they are right deep down.Drink on the heights and us blues stick out like a sore thumb.None of them go which I find strange.Pub was heaving with em when they played us at OT and Chelsea at home.

SALFORD IS BLUE!
