Will Haaland be involved in this game ?
My reason for asking his the Sun DREAMTEAM includes Cup games and am worried he will go on a purple patch after two goals and overall improvements from the West Ham game.CTID

Foden, Gvardiol, Silva and Haaland need a break as a minimum

Kevin, Ake and Akanji possibly too. But we'll be short of centre backs to rest both them

If we're being honest probably our best chance of a trophy this season,so i wouldn't take this to lightly start strong then alternate if we get a good start. I learned not to take any professional side for granted after joining in with cheering in the social club after we drew Halifax. :-(
A dark dark day, what we have now seemed a billion light years away

Totally agree which is why I still wear my tangerine and black scarf to this day. Gary Neville was the driving force behind the colour change to red and white also adding that he actively disliked our original colours and that as Salford is a working class area then red was the only appropriate colour. Totally coincidental of course! We did lose some support due to the colour change among a number of other reasons and even the committee weren't unanimous in their acceptance of the change but the opportunity for obvious advancement was far to great to refuse and would have possibly meant that someone like Trafford FC could have then been chosen as the Class Of 92's 'project'.
How long have you been watching them for mate

Ake, Bernardo & Kovacic are the only ones I definitely would rest. Add Akanji and Gvardiol if we can but I think they have to play.

The others need minutes and form.

Players I'd guarantee
Walker
McAtee
Nunes
Doku
Grealish

I'd like to see Wright and Oreilly play too but think they''ll be on the bench and gundogan will start.

Id Like
Ederson
Walker Akanji SJP Lewis
De Bruyne (60 mins) Nunes Foden
McAtee Oreilly Grealish

I think

Ederson
Walker Akanji Gvardiol Lewis
De Bruyne Gundogan Nunes
McAtee Haaland Doku

All of the following players needs minutes due to still trying to build their fitness and form up after injury/illness:
De Bruyne
Foden
Walker
Grealish
Doku

The more games they can play the better. None need a rest after the amount of time they’ve had out.

Dias is set to return this weekend, this would be an ideal game (a bit like an old school Reserves game for a returning player from injury) to get him some minutes. And then probably the next time he plays would be Ipswich, rather than play him at Brentford which would either mean he plays 2 games in 3 days with Salford+Brentford or Brentford+Ipswich, neither would be advisable after just returning from injury. And all three games certainly wouldn’t.

Gündoğan had a rest against West Ham.

Aké, Bernardo and Haaland definitely need a rest though. Would be good to give Lewis, Gvardiol and Kovačić a rest n’all. All 6 will be important for Brentford and Ipswich.

We need to keep momentum going, these players need games.
Get O’Reilly and Wright on for Gundo and De Bruyne after an hour.
Akanji on for Dias after an hour.

Plus this is our main chance at a trophy this season.

Then you also a lot of people will be coming to City on Saturday and it’ll be one of the only times they can afford to go all season, they don’t want a load of EDS lads struggling against a team who will be massively up for it.

Plus we want to get our crowd going with some goals to drown out their backing of over 5,000 who’ll be banging out the United ‘City’ song book: “cut ‘em up from head to toe all I know is City’s gonna die”, “I’d rather shag a bucket with a big hole in it than be a City fan”, “build a bonfire…put the City in the middle”, “oh every single one of us we fucking hate City”, “tra la la la we all hate City tra la la la la la la… if you come from Manchester you're sure to be a blue” “you think that your moustache is trendy”… because none of the Rags in attendance will know any Salford songs (unless they sing all the Salford Red Devils chant “I say the Salford Reds arising”?)

haha i played a youth district final on that pitch in the early/mid 80s when they were in 4th division. I was excited to play on a professional pitch. It was a bog. All sand and mud and no grass. Wasnt even rolled. I was so disappointed.
Was thinking that looking at the picture! Looks like any pass along the pitch surface would jump up unpredictably and hit you in the mid-section :)
