Moved there 2016 and it was Oldham boundary. Manchester itself isn’t that big but has just spread.

Reddish etc and the parts of trafford you mention were Lancashire originally and parts of the parish of Manchester

Reddish is stockport by governance now, anything north of the mersey may be called stockport but its Lancashire, proper stockport is cheshire

It became part of Oldham in 1974. We always considered the boundary to be Hollinwood up until that point.
