What about PEG for manager just so that we can watch the rags have a meltdown. Eddie Howe is a good shout although if I were him I wouldn't touch the job with a barge pole. Bilic would be mad to accept and I don't for a moment think he would even consider it. I would have Big Fat Sam in there to shake a few things up and start getting the results that are needed, getting rid of the shite and not pandering to the FA to play certain players.
 
Jurgen Klinsmann for me. Still relatively young, and did well for both Germany, and the USA as manager. I think he took Germany to 3rd in the World cup, and got the USA to the knock out stages of the World cup.

He's young, he plays attractive football, his players seem to love him so his man management must be pretty good. Completely agree with you, an excellent manager who could excel at a side with greater resources. He knows how to motivate, he knows how to coach and he is an excellent tactician. The trouble is the FA will look at his CV and see his age and lack of trophies and say an instant no. They wanted an English manager after Capello and Hodgson was right in their mould. Experienced, and literally an FA man. But he'd won fuck all and was past it, having been sacked by Liverpool for showing just how clueless and out of touch with modern day football he is.

The Germans would hire Southgate's equivalent and that's why we'll appoint him. The trouble is he's uninspirational and essentially shite. The players we have at youger level are generally excellent and have won the Toulon tournament, yes he deserves credit for that but tactically he's out of touch with the modern game as well. Eddie Howe would be my pick.
 
If Southgate gets the England managers position i am out completely. I realised yesterday due to my lack og giving an actual fuck that the football was on that Hodgson had made me less inclined to watch. If we go full fucking idiot and hire Southgate then that will be game over for me

Join the club mate. Nothing less than a total reform of the FA will start the process to make me bother my arse with the England national side again. I'm not holding my breath so in the meantime not a fuck will be given.

The entire point and method behind englands downfall is simple - mentality.
We are a country of hard fought losers (of course last night wasnt hard fought) and nearly men
Italy and Germany can have average sides but mentality is forced upon them through sheer experience of winning and expectance to step up when needed, whereas england continually fail.

Mancini is the single most obvious candidate who has changed a teams losing mentality to a winning one,

We were nearly men under the new owners until he arrived,
He changed he hope and will to win into genuine expectance - a circa 60 (70% in the short term of title wins etc) percent win rate under him came after he single handedly changed the entire mindset of the club
People will mention capello failed with england but the man was a f*****ng dinosaur, plus roberto has done it in england with us; he knows the league and its deficiencies and how it works..

He wont get it, he wont even be mentioned, but the cold hard facts are staring us in the face..

We need young and hungry. Ex player with passion. Our problem is very few english candidates. Likelyhood is someone like 'arry for a couple of years until wenger leaves arsenal. Haha
