Sam Allardyce

Not a bad shout. He's available, knows the English game and players, international experience, he's not Gareth Fecking Southgate or Alan Angry Shearer. Good call

Why thank you. He's the obvious candidate for me, for the reasons you state. Tactically astute, which is already an improvement on the last X number of England managers.

Because I think that someone with little experience hasn't stopped plenty of managers, he knows the game, has spent his whole life in and around it and instantly would command the players respect.
He's young enough to maybe have some new ideas but also to understand how the players are thinking and to have some passion and aggression.

I think of managers like simeone, pochatino (sorry spelling), guardiola even Morinio when he started out and I love their youthful determination and drive. I love how they give no shits on the touch line and I guess that would also be behind the scenes too; not pandering to the players.

We don't have successful experienced managers in England so you simply can't have both.
Southgate is just another FA yes man and the result will be exactly the same as with Hodgson. A damp squid to afraid to push back on the FA when they start with their bollocks.

Right now we don't need a genius tactician, right now we simply need some common sense and straight talking.
Kain on corners, 19 consecutive wins and then putting Rooney in Midfield, stopping and changing the team after each match. I'd kick off if that is city when there's 38 matches let along when we're at a tournament and maybe only have 3 or 4.

Some common sense, some passion and someone with youthful drive.

Just my opinion.
If he had any real ambitions of management he'd have been working hard to get all his badges and got himself on the football ladder to gain experience.
Instead he's taken the easy route of sitting in a studio doing his very best captain hindsight impression - which he often gets wrong.
I watched a programme the other week that he did about the Euro 96 tournament and he's got to be one of the most dour, uninspiring talkers I've heard - which I suppose is a plus point if you're after the England job.
The thought of him managing the national team would make me Ill if I cared about them but as I don't I hope the FA give him a 10 year contract.

Plus he's also been humiliated by Iceland, so he'll fit right in.

Hiddink who has managed both Turkey and the Netherlands to not qualifying for the 12 and 16 euros respectively and was fired from both
Oh and fired from Russia

Dont seem like the right choice to me

He did well at Southampton, that's how he got the job at Spurs. He also won promotion to the Premier League with Swindon and did a decent job at Chelsea.

We were unseeded in the draw for qualifying for the '98 World Cup because we didn't qualify in '94. We ended up in a group with a very good Italy team and yet he steered us to qualification, whilst Italy ended up in the play-offs.

It may be a long time ago but he's still a better option than the likes of Southgate in my opinion, if only in the short term. The first World Cup qualifier is in a couple of months time.

He's also painfully retarded and believes the disabled are paying for the sins of their past life.

Spot on. We can all woman and moan about the lack of English coaches/managers or the dearth of football men at the FA, but what have these rent-a-quote media darlings like Carragher, Ferdinand, Shearer etc. done to change things?

Shearer wanted the England job 4 years ago and was told he needed more experience. He then spent the next 4 years doing precisely fuck all to address that deficiency. That tells you all you need to know about how much he really wants the job.

When the going gets tough, this lot would much rather be sat in the sanctuary of a television studio telling everyone how they'd have done it all differently. Bunch of wankers, the lot of them.
