Sam Allardyce

give it to Sam....he can't do any worse than what has gone before in recent tournaments. It is alright saying we need a new plan and mentality. We don't, people just need to realise that as a core group English players are not that great and instead of trying to copy other nations styles of play, a manager should be brought in to actually play in a style that they can and understand.

If that means targeting a big bloke in the box and getting down the wings then so be it.

You could say the same about cycling and rugby before Brailsford, Woodward or Eddie Jones. A plan, a strategy and a different mindset will make a far greater difference.

I tend to agree. Despite the mounting evidence that we're simply not very good, there are still delusions of grandeur among some England fans.

Allardyce gets a raw deal because he's generally dealing with limited players, but he often manages to get the best out of them. And surely that's exactly what England need right now. The only problem I can envisage is some of our primadonna players sneering down their noses at him and thinking they're above his tactics. But these shysters have got away with far too much for far too long now, and the FA certainly shouldn't be pandering to their whims anymore.

Would I want to pay to watch an Allardyce side play for 38 games over a season? Certainly not. But get results over 5 games at an international tournament and you're in the semis. Who cares how pretty it is?

I dont understand why managers like fat sam and 'arry redknapp are they looked at as decent managers?! What have they done. They are shite.

Looks like my 16 year sabbatical from the national team is set to continue.

Sad state of affairs that a long ball, workman like manager is head and shoulders above every other English manager.

The obvious choice for tge job but he needs his own back up team not a FA picked one.
