You said you can't understand how a manager who has narrowly kept Sunderland in the Premier League (amongst other things you listed) is under consideration for the England job. That, in my opinion and I suspect the opinions of many, is playing down that particular achievement otherwise you wouldn't have mentioned it.
It's like me having a go at the missus by saying "The house is a tip every day, you burn everything you cook, your attitude stinks and there's no stella in the fridge" and then claiming I haven't got a problem with her culinary skills.
Listen, I don't like the bloke. Never have. England have tried going down the road of getting the best man available and we've steadily got worse over the last 20 years. Maybe we need a manager to steady the ship and get us playing at the level we currently can't reach which is expecting to get out of groups and then possibly winning the odd knockout match. We've won 6 in 50 years.I obviously have a much higher opinion of the England job than you do.
I believe that the England job is one of the biggest jobs in world football and the manager should match that ambition. What does it say about England if they get a manager who has been totally overlooked for all of the top jobs in its domestic league?
The fact that he can turn teams into solid PL teams is his selling point. When there are people on the market who are proven winners such as Mancini and Hiddink, and they get overlooked for someone who was not considered good enough to take West Ham to the next level then its just plain stupidity.
In recent seasons, Us, Liverpool, United, Chelsea, Spurs and Everton have all undergone managerial changes and Allardyce hasn't even had a sniff of getting them jobs. Why do you think that is?

The reason we've ended up in a dialogue though is because you won't admit that you frowned upon Allardyce "narrowly avoiding relegation" despite the fact that they looked fucked when he took over, he spent little money and kept them up ahead of the combined efforts of another former England manager and a Champions League winner.
If you think Allardyce will be an 'FA arse licker' I would respectfully suggest that you're wrong.I simply don't believe that narrowly avoiding relegation is good enough to warrant getting the England job. That's hardly playing down his acheivements.
I understand your reasons for wanting Allardyce but IMO he would simply be a sideways step. Replacing one mediocre English FA arse licking manager with another.
