Sam Allardyce

Who cares what players cost? It‘s funny when managers like Wilder and Allardyce moan about the cost of players.

If they had £60m to buy a player, they wouldn’t go anywhere near Cancelo as they’d have no clue what to do with him.

They'd buy 6 players who have a long throw, the best corner taker in Moldova, the striker with the most headed goals in Armenia, the tallest centre half they can find, Niko Krankjar and Peter Odenwingie.

Except when he bought in the likes of Anelka, JJ Okocha, Djorkaeff etc for Bolton

For Blackburn , Diouf, Nzonzi, Benjani, prob more I can’t think off

Us Hammers, Adrian, Carrol, Cresswell, Vaz Te, Valencia, Sakho, Jarvis, Ravel Morrison, J.Cole

Sure more for other clubs

... on a small limited budget for clubs hovering around relegation he has in his career managed to bring in some quality players

Us Hammers, Adrian, (mediocre) Carroll (failed gamble), Cresswell (decent signing, but gamble as unproven) Vaz Te (shite) Valencia (mediocre, being kind) Sakho (can’t remember this guy) Jarvis (mediocre, being kind) Ravel Morrison (gamble that paid off in 2-3 games), J.Cole (after injuries had crippled him)

His assistant has had his say now too

Who? Not Phil Brown?

Adrian - Superb keeper for us. Player of the year one season. We loved him.

Carrol - got into the England side when he was with us as he was brilliant on his day, the season after promotion he’s goals and performances more than consolidated us. At times, world class on his day, unfortunately and predictably injuries ruined his career.

Cresswell - was the championship player of the season when we signed him. How’s that a gamble ? Been brilliant ever since and probably having his best ever season right now.

Vaz Te - was his goal that got us promoted - was brilliant for us in the championship - missing the point I’m making though ,he was a tricky flair player.

Valencia - was good. Had a brilliant World Cup , skilful and quick. Again... missing the point .. these are not the type of signings that was being suggested (players that have a long throw/tall striker from a shit league etc)

Sakho - if you can’t remember him, then you shouldn’t have bothered with downplaying these players and done some research , was a very good signing for us , our top scorer for a couple years, scored the last time we beat city.

Jarvis - got into England side for us, linked well with Carrol our first season back in prem, granted he didn’t meet expectations. But again, a tricky skilful winger - not the signings you were referring too.

Ravel Morrison - pace and skill. But... allardyce only signs hoofball tall donkeys.

Joe Cole - same as above.

Whilst none of these players are on the same planet as what you are watching for City. Allardyce bought these in on a tight budget and all opposite to the signings you suggested he goes for and all had a part to play in our promotion , consolidation and getting to Europe.

Well we know he likes a bung, I’m going to go all out that he was bunged a few quid for this headline.

he knows what he’s doing & what possible reason could he have to be talking about us, now & what we spend.

it’s not his concern, he doesn’t play us again “ever” very curious indeed. First they ignore us all year except for blaming us for spreading Covid & then when they have to talk about us they create another narrative

Allardyce rag manager when?

(And this is an accurate description of his time with Everton - he kept us up and drew twice with Liverpool, but we were horrible to watch)
In a weird kind of way he would probably fit in at United with their sit back and hit on the break with pce philosophy.
