But you couldn't really level that at him on his Arsenal performances last season. So whilst you may have a point on what we have seen from him so far at City, this is presumably about current form rather than ability. And we need him to find some form quickly now Silva is out because he is the only player in the squad who has the potential to come close to replacing Silva's creativity.

I see your point Lancet but to be brutally honest I couldn't care less about how he looked at arsenal or his potential. He's a grown man so the potential should be realised by now and he plays for city not arsenal. He, like one or two others (Dzeko, Kolarov) simply aren't good enough for the level we are looking to be at IMHO.

You have to leave Dzeko out of this. And to put him in the same parentheses as Kolorov is ridiculous. Dzeko is clearly a top striker who, maybe like Nasri, is struggling with not player 90 minutes in every game.

"Dzeko is clearly a top striker" - absolutely incorrect IMHO mate. How many games has this 'top striker' gone without scoring or without even looking like scoring?

Anyone got a gif of Carragher booting him at the end? Dirty swine!!

Nasri has disappointed so far this year for me a C- on his report if you will. He started out with a bang at Spurs and linked up like a dream with Silva, I thought the 2 of them would rip defences apart all year but he seemed to drop off big style.

He's shown glimpses but not had as big an impact as I thought he would. Arsenal fans were not happy about him coming here which is always a big indicator about a player. He needs to get that pansy boy Arsenal attitude out of his character and step up and be counted in the next few games.

There is always time for him to turn it around esp with this month of games coming up. He could make a real difference.

Any help with that gif would be great, cheers lads

He was our best player last night besides Joe and Micah, and actually tried to make stuff happen. I notice he'd get the ball but everyone around him was like statues, the movement was terrible, so there wasn't much he could do with it.

samir is the one player whos going to make a lot of people on hear look daft.. confidence is such a big thing.. just a reminder to everyone what he can do if the fans are behind him and he has confidence.. we are all talking about needing someone to drive the ball at the defence through the middle.. without yaya this is samirs making.. with or without silva he should be given a bigger part in our team this month.. form is temporary, class is permanent

Wow. I had almost forgotten how good Samir was and why we signed him. I think silva fits our team play perfectly because he is a genius at picky gaps and slowly creating space. But if you watch this video you realize that alot of samir's ability and style of play is about quick bursts of pace, dribbling and a powerful shot. This is what we need to build our team on when he is playing. We cant always play the david silva way of drifting into attacks and patiently trying to break down opposition. When Samir is playing we have to play fast quick counters and quick one twos in the box to suit him and I think he will be brilliant for us. For every team there is a fulcrum and when David is injured we HAVE to rely on Samir and play to his strengths to make things happen in our attacking third.

I don't think Nasri is a confidence player as such , I think he just thrives off of playing the central role behind the striker. When he plays wid he goes the entire game without having an impact , last night he played in the centre and seemed to control the midfield for large parts. Pass and move and he was linking up well with everyone. I think if we see him play centrally more often , and stick Silva wider we will see an improvement in the team. Silva can impact a game from anywhere so his position is irrelevant , but Nasri likes that central , creative , goal scoring role. He played it for Arsenal for large parts of last season , and he was a world beater.

I still believe that the Silva/Nasri partnership should be our Xavi/Iniesta.

I would certainly think one more player of this type would be helpful too.

In the mould of Fabregas or Xabi Alonso.

I was thinking about this last night. Over the season we have, at some points, been compared to Barcelona by various pundits, but I don't think we're anywhere near as attacking as Barca. If we were surely we'd play something like:

------------- Yaya -------------
----- Nasri ---------- Silva ------
Aguero ---------------------- Balo
------------- Dzeko? -------------

or

------------- Barry -------------
----- Nasri ---------- Yaya ------
Aguero ---------------------- Balo
------------- Silva ---------------

I'm not saying we should play like that as I think it's far too offensive, but I think that'd be Barca's system with our players.

Opinions on Nasri

I've always thought it would take him a while to settle as it did at arsenal despite him having already adapted to this league but I assumed that fans were behind him considering how many of our key players both now and in the past had a slow start to their city career. I know he could work harder BUT what the guy sat behind me yesterday said really shocked me "Did you see nasri's face when asked to warm up? I've always hated him and thought he was shit, miserable french twat" I hope there aren't more fans with that attitude because if we get behind him he could become a key player in our team
