So you can only score 3 or more goals against shit teams if you've won an international trophy? In which case, Messi is just a massive stat padder for Argentina as he didn't win an international trophy until fairly recently. Or does this rule only apply to English players? I think people just want to convince themselves that Harry Kane is shit.

No one said Kane can’t score against shit teams. But you are a stat passer if you don’t also perform well against big teams/in big matches.
