The bottom 20 UEFA countries based on FIFA rankings should have a pre-qualifying tournament of say 4 groups of 5 with just one from each group going through to the main qualifiers. They’d all have more competitive games and the main qualifiers wouldn’t be riddled with pointlessly one sided games.

This was brought up last time, when do these games get played? The schedule is already rammed full. And even if they somehow found the space, they'd need to be an international period to accommodate it which means England and everyone else goes off and plays in literal pointless friendlies all over the world against the highest bidder. Meaning more games and less point to them. Its far easier and better to just let them play in these.
