Sandro Tonali

and how are the team performing with him in it.....

is it peps fault he cant or wont defend

Go look at his part in the goal Newcastle scored midweek (along with Alt Nouri) and tell me thats Peps fault

Yes he has good stats but that is a small part of the picture...go watch him the full game...watch how long he is not in the game for at times...where he is having no affect onthe game at all ...Now some say Haaland is like this...yes he is but as a striker you can do that...As a midfielder you cannot be like that...so if Haaland plays we cant afford to have Reijnders playing....
Defending is not his game as it is not Haalands, Doku's Marmoush, Phil's etc. Sadly more work should have been done on the decision to buy him, and where he is now played.

Nouri defending is another conversation completely fuckin hope he is not marking Salad today

exactly why he cant be in the team....he is a passenger

Doku actually does quite well defending - its part of his game that he has worked on clearly and at least Foden gets back and tries to defend

From what i remember I believe RAN has done well against Salah in the past BUT I agree, his defending is fucking woeful normally. I just wish we would buy fullbacks who could actually defend.....Mendy was shit, Kolorov wasnt great either....we have not had a left back that can acutally defend for the whole time Pep has been at city .....Clichy?

Delph did ok there cause he was a fighter and combatative. Zinchenko did ok cause he was a clever player and we had such a dominant team at the time. NOR looks better defensively and he has made a couple of howlers recently that have led to goals.

Gvardiol did well there and at least he can defend - but clearly he is a centre half

Nunes is our best defensive fullback and that is a shocking state to be in.

Do any of our fullback options get into any top 6 team in Europe?

Pointed out in another thread that Tonali only just extended his contract last summer, so presumably his agent had the foresight to ensure a potential release clause triggered by any failure to qualify for the Champions League. Newcastle are well adrift of that based on their current League position.

Yes, there seems to be something going on.

Bruno G is the one we should have got, seems a cracking player and one we would have loved

But this guy seems to have the right attributes.

I suppose all depends what happens with Rodri, Bernardo, Kovacic whether we have space.

I think we need to consider Al-Nouri as our LB with potentially Gvardiol, so we buy Anderson, O’Reilly, with Nico G, is there room for one more.

Probably only makes sense if don’t get Anderson or Rodri goes.

Yesterday, Guimaraes took the penalty that drew Newcastle level against Brentford. While he was running across to the crowd and camera and wasting time wanting his own personal adulation, it was Tonali who ran into the net to grab the ball and take it back to the centre spot. He wanted to win the game. Bernardo did exactly the same today.

Stuff like this passes most by but in the toughest moments its this stuff that makes a diffrence

I like him think he's a cracking player. Miles better than the Brazilian Lee Cattermole alongside him this forum has the strangest fucking hard on for.

The gambling stuff would be an issue though, seems to have a bit of a problem and you just know the League will find his secret betfair account instantly if we signed him.

I wouldn't sign him.
At A C. Milan, he knew he was guilty of betting and would be banned.
Yet, he signed for Newcastle, getting big money, knowing he would not immediately be able to play for them.
Not the right sort of character City need...

Anderson *or* him, unless both Rodri and Bernie leave this summer.
