santa cruz stumps ssnews

Sky news are still running with the homesick story and that he may want away, they never let the true story get in the way of a headline do they.

It's updated now.

Roque - Tevez happy at City

Manchester City striker Roque Santa Cruz claims there is no rift between Carlos Tevez and manager Roberto Mancini.

City forward Santa Cruz was quoted as saying that Argentine forward Tevez is not enjoying life at Eastlands and that he is missing his family back home.

This has sparked speculation that the 26-year-old is unhappy at the club, adding fuel to the fire that he is also frustrated under Mancini.

However, while Paraguay international Santa Cruz does not deny that his fellow South American is missing his family, he claims there is no major problem and insists there is no rift with Mancini.

He told Sky Sports: "His relationship with the manager is as good as with any other manager.

"They may have some differences in terms of what they think in the game but that's what football is all about.

"The atmosphere in the club is not in terms of people thinking about Tevez and the manager.

"There is no such thing and their relationship is the same as any professional relationship you can have with any other manager.

"Carlos and the manager are doing the best for the club and Tevez is very passionate. In terms of what they want for the club - they just want the best."

Santa Cruz also insists Tevez is still enjoying his football, adding: "I'm sure that he is enjoying it, you can see by the way he plays football that he is enjoying it.

"I was just saying everybody would love to be around their family in their own country.

"He loves the club and even though he would love to be around his family and his daughters, that's something we're living with."

Santa Cruz himself is expected to leave the club during the January transfer window after not getting a sniff of Premier League football this season.

He remarked: "I have been training as hard I can to look for a place in the team and I couldn't find the chance to play.

"In terms of what every football player wants, we want to feel ourselves as a football player and when you are not playing or not even in the squad then you lose this feeling.

"I can't live with that and I think I have a lot to give to the football world.

"I don't think anybody would be surprised to hear that I am not happy with the situation at the moment.

"Due to lack of games and opportunities to play, of course it (leaving) is something that I'm thinking of."

The 29-year-old has been linked with a move to Spain while speculation has also mounted that he could once more team-up with Mark Hughes at Fulham.

"I don't really mind where to go and play, I just want to feel myself as a footballer again," he said.

"The only way I can do that is playing. I don't have any special wishes or anything, it's just about getting that chance to play football again.

"I think that I've been good to the club by working hard, the club has also been good to me.

"If my qualities are not going to be used by the club then I don't think the club will have anything against it."

santa cruz told swanson exactly what the situation was with tevez - i.e. like anyone else away from home he naturally misses his family but is enjoying his football & being with city. that didn't stop that fuckwit swanson from still pressing the point "will carlos tevez see out his contract at manchester city?"

thick fat agenda-driven know-nothing prick.

If that's a verbatim statement from RSC then fair play to the lad.He always
comes across as being intelligent and a really nice guy.Would much rather
hear a player stating their desire to play, than a Danny Mills quite happy to
sit on their arse picking up obscene wages for nothing. Also he does'nt seem
to ever bad mouth the club, and his signing was down to Hughes' fixation with
him more than anything else. It's not his fault that the bar keeps getting
raised and the levels of expectation with it.At least he's being honest.

It would make the media pretty boring if they said everying was happy on the good ship City.

Don't answer loaded questions on radio about other players, and tell them that you "want to play elsewhere in January" ////then you can't be "misquoted."
Simple.

Even foreign papers like to have a slight dig with made up bollacks:

Sunday Times of Malta apologises to Gary Neville

Neville is the club captain of Manchester United
A Maltese newspaper has issued an apology to Gary Neville after misquoting the Manchester United defender in his own column.

In a piece about striker Wayne Rooney, Neville was quoted as saying: "The best outcome was reached for all parties, except perhaps Manchester City."

The Sunday Times of Malta newspaper accepted the last four words of the quote were added by a journalist.

Rooney had said he wanted to leave Old Trafford but then signed a new deal.

The paper said: "We apologise unreservedly to Mr Neville."

A statement issued by editor Steve Mallia read: "With reference to Gary Neville's column in the Sunday Times of Malta of 24 October, the newspaper would like to clarify the following: At no point did Gary Neville state the phrase, 'Except perhaps Manchester City'.

"These words were added by the journalist who worked on the column with Mr Neville and were never intended to appear in the printed version of the article. Mr Neville did not utter these words, nor did he allude to Manchester City in any way.

"We apologise unreservedly to Mr Neville for the error and regret the considerable inconvenience it has caused him."

Why are TalkSport saying that RSC should keep his mouth shut about Tevez then?
