Of course, but I guess until the judge decrees, he's still technically innocent in the eyes of the law.

Oh great - well if I get arrested for drink driving I'll drive my bus/train/taxi until someone insists I am no longer employed. At least I will get paid whilst still driving pissed - good news.

He pled guilty on the 8th July not June.

Maybe it's important though. A dismissal by an organisation that also carried out an investigation into him could be seen to be prejudicial.
For the sake of a few thousand pounds you would have jeopardised a murder mistrial that could have seen him walk free in sub-20 years and not banged up for 35 to whole life?

given his guilty plea they could have announced that he was suspended without pay at least from the initial guilty plea. Dismissing him today is crass mis-management.
