Spurs really do look a much better side then we do at the moment.

Yet they've got only five points from the five games before today, the same as us during our "crisis".

Spurs get back to 2-2 then bring Peter Crouch on and go and win it.

Can you imagine Mancini doing that?

That's why Spurs finished top four last season and we didn't. They want to win football games. They don't go to preserve a draw.

Going for games doesn't guarantee wins.

Tell that the the Rags. That philosophy hasn't done them too badly over the years.

Re: Arsenal v Spurs

Typical, Arse v Spuds Thread ends up as a Mancini is shite Thread from the usual Posters.

At least he went for a win. And we won at home in the cup. How many has Mancini won? Two games, no wins after another 100M spent.

He went for the win?

One match at Old Trafford he did, but the others were as bad as anything we've done under Mancini. And going for a win and losing still gets you 0 points.

Mancini was in charge for the cup win, so he has a win, a draw and two losses against your hero's duck egg from 3 matches.

Not sure why you would think Mancini is my hero either.

Won at home in the cup against who? We beat United at home in the cup under Mancini and if you think we went for the win in the two games against United in the leauge in 09/10 under Hughes then you are completely deluded, we never come close to scoring in either of the games

Wigan have done some amazing bend-over jobs for the rags in recent history. I remember a cricket score or two. If Wigan get anything out of this, I'd be very surprised.

OTOH, Brum could grind a draw out of Chelsea like they did against us if they work hard.

As it is they finished 3 points ahead of us, one win for us at Shite Hart Lane or COMS would have changed things.
do you seriously think they would have lost at burnley if they needed a win for champs league

Fuck sake just turned tomorrow into a must win game.

No difference mate. We would have been 7 points behind the Arse had they won. Now if we win tomorrow we ar 1 point behind them. Takes a bit of pressure off in my opinion. As it is we should be focussing on 2nd place rather than worrying if we can hang on to 4th.

I don´t think Spuds even went for it - they made a like for like sub (Crouch for Pav) sat back and just waited for their opportunities to break quickly. Redknapp knew Arse wouldn´t compromise their attacking style so the back door was always open if Spuds defended well and/or Arse lost confidence - Spuds did NOT take the game to Arse at any stage - yes they made an attacking substitution at HT but they were 2 down so what do you expect?

Don't get me wrong, I'd love us to finish close games with the mentality that they do.

But people on here seem to think that all you have to do is attack and you win games. It's just not realistic, and even the rags have had to be pragmatic about things on occasion.
