Saudi Sovereign fund

Didn't you do the same thing to your Australian and MLS team?

Pretty sure its not a coincidence New York play in sky blue
New York was an newly created team that bid to join the MLS when a palce came open, completedly new so the kits were designed to fit ours.

New york Cosmos still exist if you were implying we took over am existing NY team.

Melbourne Heart fans were consulted once bought over a name change with a gaurentee their red/white badge and colours would remain, which they have while adopting sky blue and white.

fully consulted not forced

It's worth mentioning that Melbourne Heart were only 5 years old at the time, so it's not quite the same as the taking >100 year-old institutions and changing their colours, badges, names or even city in one case.

All of the other clubs in the group have, to my knowledge, stayed the same. Yokohama still play in Everton blue. Girona still wear red and white.

The team in Uruguay were also fairly new (10 years-old when they were bought) and play in blue, and switched names from Club Atletico Torque to Montevideo City Torque. Not sure if they already played in blue though (ETA: yes they always played in light blue). Mumbai City FC also had a similar story. New team, kept the name this time, changed the shirt colour from royal blue to light blue. It seems that if they buy a fairly new team, they will try and match the branding to Man City. If it's an established team, they keep everything as it.

Ok. I want all nations of the world to have good leagues, good sports for their kids and youth. Every child, everywhere from the Sahara to Siberia, deserves the right to a good life. I know I sound like a fairytale character but heck that's who I'm.
And as fair competition as you can get.

FFP is a protectionist racket imposed by the big clubs to make sure that they are the only ones that will ever be able to buy the best players and to make sure that they stay at the top of the game indefinitely. It's basically a more politically savvy version of the ESL. So in a sense, I don't have a massive problem with any club coming up with creative ways of getting around it and find it quite hilarious to see Arsenal, Man Utd and Liverpool fans being fooled into thinking that they're on the side of fair play when their clubs have spent the last 30 years manipulated every aspect of the game to kill any competition off the pitch before they can threaten them on it. How do you feel about Arsenal's placement in Pot 2 of the Champions League draw, for example? Is that not absolutely embarrassing for your club to get a helping hand like that when you haven't qualified for the competition in years?

We can probably afford to spend £200m this summer and still meet FFP demands. Why should Newcastle not be allowed to spend the same amount? Because clubs like yours are afraid of competition and think they have the divine right to always be the best so have manipulated the rules in their favour, that's why. And just like in the case of FFP, your first response to any competition is to try and change the rules in your favour. Ban players from going to Saudi Arabia. Boycott games against Newcastle (congratulations on your perfect season of 38 3-0 wins, Newcastle). It's never to actually be confident in your own club. I'm not worried about Saudi Arabia, because I know that any player that we wanted whose head was turned by a Saudi offer wouldn't have the mentality to succeed at City anyway.

No issue with Newcastle signing Neves. Just sign him properly rather than via a brown paper bag deal.

As for your last sentence - Bernardo might be off to Saudi Arabia

Well Bernardo has wanted to leave for 2 years anyway, so I don't see why that means anything. Every City fan has said if he wants to leave and we get an offer, good luck to him. We don't want players that don't want to be here, but no-one has come up with a reasonable offer yet. We've just got lucky that Bernardo is the absolute professional he is and always gives his best.

Having said that, I'd be astonished if he ends up in Saudi. Let's be honest, the fact that someone has an offer from Saudi means nothing. Every vaguely available top-class player has probably had interest. They're like Todd Boehly on crack.

No idea what the reality of relations are like between Saudi and our boys, find it hard to believe the Sheikh and khaldoon aren,t fully aware of every detail of the Saudi plans.

George Graham was the master of the transfer deal and brown envelopes wasn’t he?

The BBC preparing the ground for the Qatar take-over of United? Yes, it's a quote. But it is unchallenged and obviously bollocks. How lucky we are that being owned by PIF means you aren't state-owned.

What exactly the difference between being owned by a sovereign wealth fund and being state owned? Other than the fact that it's presumably run at an arms length from the actual politicians?

@ HumbledGooner You really didn't deal with any of the above. I think you need to have another go, unless you basically have no reply? Unless deep down, despite the denial, you know I'm With Stupid has nailed it?
