Tricky couple of games coming up for our Dave,
A 5-0 thumping at Palace did for Frank O'Farrell and then he's got to play the Greeks.
A draw at Palace and a low scoring defeat in Athens might just be enough to get him through this month.
The pressure has been off him with the media concentrating on teams that have actually been playing but
it's crunch time now.

Posted this in the Rag thread but its worth going in here. I reckon its safe to say he`ll be here all season. But he might be gone by next season.

They will not sack Moyes. He will be on a performance related contract based on where they are at the end of each season. If he doesn`t meet the targets set then he will be gone on a reduced compensatory arrangement in the summer. If they sack him now then they will be in breach of contract and would have to pay up the remainder of his mega-deal contract.

They won't be paying up the remainder of his contract regardless of when they sack him. This is a myth the media like to peddle for some reason. There will be clauses that prevent them having to pay up the full amount. 1 or 2 years' salary would be my guess.

And the clauses you mention are exactly what I`m talking about in the specific targets set to be achieved at specific points in time. If come the end of the season he has not met his targets he will be gone on reduced "compo".
If they were to sack him now then they would be in breach of contract. He could potentially sit on his arse for another 5 years while they pay him. More likely there would be an arrangement, the size of the "compo" would then be decided by solicitors freeing him up to take employment elsewhere.
This could be a re-run of the Fulham/Muelensteen saga.

Yep, Hopefully he's moved on to thinking about plausible "not Dave attributable" excuses for when they don't make it.

Maybe he'll blame GPC and Gill for signing him when there were clearly more urgent needs, like central midfield and defence.
