Savinho | City reject Spurs approach

What's wank about him?
He has a fantastic touch which is Mahrez-esque. He is rapid over 20 years and he can beat a man on the inside or outside, which is a good trait to have. He has a good delivery and should have had more assists.

He has looked very tense with his finishing and snatched at lots. He also been very unlucky with keepers making great saves.

His attitude and application has been little wayward. But, he's a kid and that can be improved.

I think he had enough quality to persevere with and he can become a fantastic player.
Great touch. He's not rapid. I've never seen him burn a defender for pace when played through. He can beat a man but then tries to beat him again and the ball goes loose or out into touch.

His decision making, finishing and crossing is absolutely abysmal. He's young granted and that might (might) change.

I don't think it will. I've said all along about his attitude. I have mates in the club who say his attitude stinks. Nobody will believe that despite the fact I've been on this forum for over 15 years and never once claimed ITK status before. The minute he gets dropped he'll be as bad as Cancelo reportedly was.

Think the Rodrygo 'swap' would've been an upgrade but I'm happy enough to see if he can improve on his first season

Wonder if we'll see more of him on the left, though. Marmoush + Doku have hardly been tearing it up out there...

I cannot speak about his attitude in the club, but I agree that he is very quick, a good dribbler, and can assist. He can improve his finishing, his physicality, and his tracking back. If he can develop those, I think there is a worldy in there. Attitude transcends all of those though, and the player has to have an absolute willingness and deep desire to improve.

Which are the bad signings? The older players have or will in the next year be gone
I'd say the ones that have proved to be a step down in quality from those that came before.

Which in truth is pretty much all of them since the treble.

A high bar I confess, but that's the harsh reality of trying to stay at the very top.

No it isn't becaue the quality of those that won the treble was developed at City, as those young players arriving now will. You're comparing new players with what previous new players became not what they were. You have no idea how the new signings will develop so they can't be bad signings yet.

Glad we are keeping him.

Unless we were going to replace Savinho with prime Messi, we'd still be frustrated because of our seemingly contagious lack of focus, cohesion and innovation. Pep needs to get them all scoring. Not just Savinho.

Even I would be fast over 20 years

Posted that now Spurs have pulled out on the deal and signed an alternative. Hope he knuckles down pushes on now though, we see him fulfill his potential

Not sure we can wait 20 years to beat his man and whip one to the back stick mate.
