Savinho extends his contract to 2031

"Sensational" hahahaha

10 assist in his first season in a physically demanding league as a young player in a dysfunctional team for quite a few months, flawed at best for the remainder of the season I'd call pretty great yeah. Even sensational to wind up those daft buggers that think his output as a whole can be labelled as "shite". Considering we are 2 months into a new season with Haaland still scoring 70% of our goals and also 3 weeks from people being similiarily divided on a two years older player in Doku I'd cut his goal-tally some slack until we become a better attacking unit and he develops that part of his game

I don’t think people are haters but think the lad needs to produce the goods on the pitch, he’s been very poor this season and should be doing. Not seen anything to suggest that we shouldn’t have sold him to Spurs for the amount they offered.
I hope I’m wrong
You don’t have, because you don’t see him every day. Day in, day out. It’s not rocket science.

I don't understand the hate he gets from some posters on here. He is still young and clearly has talent and scope to develop. Bluemoon seems to be infested by joyless that's who are not happy unless they are slagging the club, manager or players off.
Or they are not City fans

If Sterling only got 8 assists and 1 goal in a season, he would have been run out of town, he was disliked by many despite scoring over 130 goals for this club and god knows how many assists on top of that.

We know Sav has got some talent and potential but as people keep saying about Lewis, we are a win now team and does he deserve that place in the team if he isn't producing more than he has?

I admit I'm not so keen and would have taken the 70m no problem at all, I would never be a hater and hope he fails though, I'd be overjoyed if he turned into a Sane/Sterling style winger, we have certainly missed them,

We aren't a win-now team. We are in the middle of a rebuild. One look at how many players we have in that 25 to 30-fully developed bracket tells you that. Last year we had only Rodri and Dias and yet we mostly targeted projects in january. All though we have rectified it a bit by identifying players like Ait-Nouri, Donna, Marmoush and Reijndeers I'd say Savinho suits the category of young players not yet reached their peaks that will hopefully round out a new winning squad in 1, 2 or 3 years down the line alongside the likes of Bobb, Reis, Khus, Doku, Etcheverri, O'Reilly, Bobb, Gvardiol, Cherki and our two 25 year old stars in Foden and Haaland that are taking more and more responsibility as leaders.

Sterling had more experience and were further in his development when we signed him than Savinho

He was under contract and hasn't shown enough to warrant a huge extension.

Strange time to do it when he looked to be out of the door.

If he shows enough this season then offer extension in the summer.

When the chips are down for us he disappears.

Big improvement needed to warrant the extension.

Just had to check his stats,

21 years of age

32 appearance over the last 2 seasons

1 goal.

1 goal in 32 as an attacking winger is pretty poor by anyone's standards.
You`ve conveniently missed out the assists he`s had to suit your narrative. Give the lad a break FFS.

I'm sure everyone wants him to do well, and we can all see he's got some potential, but he doesn't warrant this extension, he really needs to improve his decision making in the final third, but much more than that he needs to offer something in backup to the defenders, and that is my biggest issue with him.
Agree it's hard to justify this except as an attempt to secure our assets into the future - bit like Haaland - but I really hope this isn't a harbinger of bad news on the 115 front.

It's easy to do!

Christ, some people are too touchy.

People aren't digging him out, just pointing out he hasn't done enough for an extension.

Been here just over a year, struggled to make any impact when called upon this season and gets an extension out of the blue.

It's a bit odd that's all.

Don’t want to slag this man off and fall out with anybody, but I’ve got to say,…I’d like to see him training,…he must be smashing it every session.

Maybe it makes sense financially.

Makes no sense footballing wise. This kid’s an empty vessel, he’d be perfect for the rags. Lightweight- tick, poor decision making - tick, no end product - tick, flouncing - tick, bit of a bottle job - tick.

Strange decision by the club imo. I don’t think he has done enough yet to deserve a contract extension. Time will tell.

Jack's gone to Everton.

Foden and Doku are rediscovering their form.

So it's Savinho's turn now, is it Bluemoon?
