Scandinavian Crime series

Love the bridge, haven't seen much of the Killing or Borgen but people tell me they're great. More into books and films if I'm honest, 101 Reykjavik, The Girl..., Jar City all good.

The Erlendur series of books that Jar City is part of is great, I think Jo Nesbo even knicked a plot line!

Anyone watching/watched any of these, mainly on BBC4?

Heard a lot about them so watched 3rd series of 'The Bridge' which was spell-binding and I got the first two series on DVD. Now watching the Danish one 'Follow The Money'. Not quite up to the standard of The Bridge but excellent nonetheless.

'The Killing' was another I think but not seen any of that yet.

Series 1 Ep 1 of the Bridge - when they conceit is revealed - that there is a body lain across the border and it two haves of a different body AND the half a corpse on the Danish side is Swedish and the half on the Swedish side is a Danish person I defy anyone to watch that and think here we go same old same old.....

The Killing and The Bridge are both brilliant series. Not started watching Follow the Miney yet, but the reviews have been a bit mixed.

Where can I find the Scandinavian version of the bridge either translated into English or with English sub titles please.

I can only find it in Swedish. I've watched the American/Mexican version but would like to watch the Swedish version to see how it compares.

Anyone any ideas?

As I alluded to in my post, if they go to the trouble of making English speaking remakes of shows, they cant be too shabby, and all of the 3 remakes were almost as good as the originals. Some people just love to hate and be contrary, I feel sorry for them that they cant enjoy life and feel the need to denigrate other's enjoyment, like it makes them somehow superior. Trolls gotta troll.

I don't hate these dramas. I just think they are formulaic and uninteresting. If your enjoyment of life is enhanced by watching them then I'm pleased for you.

The US version of The Killing is on Netflix. The first season in particular is absolutely superb, had me completely gripped and had me changing my mind on who did it after each episode. Season 2 was very good too but it tailed off after that unfortunately. Still watchable once you've become hooked but not upto the standards of the first season.

Arnaldur Indridason wrote them, good author. Was made into a film and Baltasar Kormákur who directed Trapped did them both.

All three seasons here. Genuinely fantastic television.

They went to Abu Dhabi last night. It was the worst part of the series so far.

The corrupt MD of this Danish energy firm sells a stake in his firm to an Abu Dhabi invester for several hundred million, on the basis of a supposedly 'groundbreaking' superconductor - after clinching the deal with a 'demonstration' which was the exact same "dry-iced magnet/conductor that hovers over and runs round a track" trick that Steven Fry did in QI a couple of seasons ago. The whole thing was about as realistic as going on Dragon's den, showing one of those clocks that runs on a potato, and walking away with a million quid. If you were the sensitive type, you could even call it racist.

The better part of the plot is those two kids with the €2m they've buried in the ground!
