  • Schalke 2 v 3 Man City
  • Mainz 3 v 0 Schalke
  • Schalke 0 v 4 Fortuna
  • Werder 4 v 2 Schalke
That is a total of 14 goals conceded in 4 games, we do not deserve to progress if we can not beat this lot.

They would not have scored in the first leg if not for that dreadful first VAR decision by the corrupt UEFA officials.

Start fast get an early goal and the tie is over.
I know Uefa are corrupt, but If we draw 1-1 we definitely deserve to go through. ;)

Strange but after the League game at home to Watford a midweek game at home to Schalke and then a FA Cup game at Swansea feels like a breather.

Who's the **** in black who'll be out to shaft us?

Bild report Schalke will field something which looks like a ‘B-Team’ against City at the Etihad on Tuesday evening.

Manager Domenico Tedesco is under huge pressure and knows if he doesn’t get good results domestically soon then his job is gone.
Currently 14th in the table, and absolutely not completely clear of relegation fears, the club are going through one of their regular crisis periods.

Bild say that players such as Amine Harit and Hamza Mendyl, recently left out of the squad due to ‘mentality’ issues, could line up against Manchester City.

Just a weird side story about Schalke Ultra fans:

after the 0-4 home defeat last weekend vs Dusseldorf, home fans stopped vocal support at half time.
After the match, players had to go to their home end to get the full shit shower.

Then, 2 fan delegates went on the pitch, angrily talked to the players and took the captain's armband off vice captain Stambouli,
who was devastated afterwards.

Last summer those fans gave the armband - labeled Nordkurve (name of the home end) - to captain and keeper Fährmann as a symbol for their support.
Now the players were not worthy anymore to keep it...

When support turns into hatred and after the next win back to support. Disgraceful.
Maybe ask some of their fans what they think about that.

I totally disagree. Football is more than a simple game. And Schalke is more than a simple club. Schalke is playing the worst season since the last relegation 36 years ago. Nearly all the players are millionars who are living in a comfort bubble and in this bubble they arent realizing what this does to the fans which are travelling anywhere, supporting every game and spending a big amount of their wages for this. They have to learn that their (non)effort has consequences.
It was an just open emotional discussion. And at this stage of point, I think the team doesnt deserve the captain's armband, tbh they dont deserve the royal blue jersey at all. Maybe my point of view changes after a miracle victory in the Etihad. Even though I should know it better, I have faith!

He's actually a very good referee and not usually too card happy. No idea who the VAR lad is.

Harit and Uth not in the travelling squad, Uth being said to miss a training session last Friday.

Mendyl back in the squad, maybe to replace injured Caligiuri as RB.

Actually Schalke have put in everything in the 1st leg and as a consequence were flat at Mainz away (0-3 defeat).
The table situation is indeed frightening.

Maybe they will try to keep face and not put in a fight til the end.
