I don't buy into the whole everyone's against us cult like beliefs some have the simple fact is the rules of the game aren't clear, some need clarifying and some need changing.

If It has to be intentional to be a penalty Otamendi clearly didn't intentionally handball it as you can see by the replay so by the rules of the game it's not a penalty and they've got it wrong. What's worse is the refs decision to book him for it. Having said that, I personally belief therule needs to be changed and that should be a penalty, intentional or not his hand has altered the trajectory of a shot that looked to be going in and should be a penalty in my eyes.but as the rules are I don't understand how that's a correct decision.

As for the second one, I don't think anybody can legitimately doubt it's a foul, yes we can all point to worse offences that haven't been given but that doesn't make this less of a foul. However, he was offside and all this talk about him not being active is bollocks, if he wasn't in an offside posiiton he wouldn't be infront of our defenders forcing them into a panicked decision to foul them, offside is the first offence and therefore the game has to be brought back to that moment, disregarding anything that happens after it. If some body is offside when played clean through and rounds a keeper who then fouls him, the penalty isn't given, it's brought back for offside and the foul is ignored, it's the same thing here.

There is no requirement for players to put their arms behind their backs.
No requirement no but it helps stop penalties. We’ll see one or two like this every weekend on matchnof the day. Not sure why City fans are acting like this is the first handball ever given where the player didn’t try and catch the fucking ball.

We got fucked over.
First pen, never a pen. His hands are no more than 6-8 inches away from his body, natural stance, there not going to be welded to the side of his body or behind his back cos he’s trying to move to block the shot. Try’s to get his arm out of the way.
Look at his left arm, same position of the arm.
Second one is offside, if the player is level with Dinho he doesn’t need to pull him back.
Don’t think the first pen warranted a yellow card cos there’s no way that’s a deliberate handball, Otamendi’s second yellow was correct, so can’t really argue with the red since he’d already been booked.
Shouldn’t have gone in like that on a yellow.
Fucking buzzing with the result after the drama!
Second yellow wasn't correct, it was a nothing challenge and contact.

Two penalties against, a red card and a poor performance makes this an absolutely phenomenal result. has to be said it’s individual talent that’s got us that tonight, pep got it wrong, his lineup was too unbalanced, you can’t have 4 players wanting to get on the ball and make the pass and only 2 players to hit who are double or trebled up on, it’s too easy to pack the defence when everything is played in front of you and only one or two threats behind to be concerned with. Having said that, He redeemed himself with the subs, bt was suggesting sterling would come off for sane, i was hoping it was Sergio to play with no striker and two pacy wide men instead and that’s exactly what he did and it got us the result. Great resilience to get ourselves out of a hole, a fast start in the second leg and we can put the game to bed early.
Generally agree but would add that he was forced to make changes as well after Otto got sent off but the changes he made were the right ones
Fern at centre half has worked before and was working early on as it gave us great mobility but it didn't work ultimately because he was caught out for the 2nd pen and held his man back or so it seemed to the ref.
