It's not about having a favourite rag, infact for a player of that quality, and Giggs for that matter, you can pretty much take out the team he plays for from any arguement. It makes you no less of a blue to acknowledge the achievements of those 2 players, infact it makes you more so because it means you have the ability to not be clouded by anything. I have massive respect for both Giggs and Scholes, partly for the same reason, (what they have acheived), but for Giggs it stretches to complete admiration and respect that he has played for one of the biggest clubs in the world more or less non-stop for 20 whole years. Add to that what he has achieved during that time. With Scholes its respect for what he has won and the consistency he has won it with, plus the fact he is a non-entity off the pitch. All that money, and none of it went to his head. In the era of the multi-million pound footballer, it's easy to let it go to your head, there are examples of it at every club, ours included. Scholes seems to have just not been interested one bit. I remember about 5 or 6 years ago pulling up at some traffic lights on Oldham Road. I glanced at the rather nice car, (but nothing to extravagant), next to me and realised it was Scholes. The car was an Audi A8, a sponsored one from the club. I'm sure he might have something more fun in his garage, but it just seemed pretty level headed of him to be driving an almost-regular car, again in an era where its all money money money. I don't see how anyone can not have respect for him to be honest, unless of course the club he played for clouded that judgement.TheMightyQuinn said:I don't care who he's married to.
I don't care that he's meant to be amazingly perfect as a human being. Ryan Giggs was viewed in the same way until about a month ago.
I've never had a favourite rag.
