Reminds me of John Deacon from Queen, great/amazing player who did his best to keep out of the Media spotlight. He retired a season too late in my opinion. United are really going to struggle to replace all these players.

I don't think we did release him. I thought Taggart turned up at his house on his fourteenth birthday and hijacked him.

I don't think we did release him. I thought Taggart turned up at his house on his fourteenth birthday and hijacked him.

The story I heard was that the club where expecting him back and it was a shock when he didn't show up, it wasn't for a couple of weeks that they figured out he had changed his name and joined the rags(something he had every right to do). So I think it was more a case that the rags wanted him more than anyone at city let him go.....
