Scholes, ITV disgrace

He really annoyed me with his remarks about lack of atmosphere and soul etc before the game.

Then we went and proved the ginger twunt right by playing like strangers in a church. Very, very frustrating, We have got a hang up about this competition now. I don't really look forward to cl nights as we just constantly let ourselves down.

Struggling to think of one European performance when we really played to to our potential, 2-3 baryern excepted. Think we have been poor to average in every home cl game I've seen.

Maybe that's why our support doesn't really believe and get behind the team. The best European night at eastlands was Hamburg at home, great atmosphere and a gutsy, fighting performance to be proud of.

Think we need a moment of magic from one of the players to spark a performance and get rid of the general malaise that seems to accompany these European nights.

he best of our ability, barren away

The reality is that this was a big European night, first home game of the season and the atmosphere was like a second leg capital one match. And this sips into the pitch, the hollowness weighed the players down and although most were bad today, a better, more worthy atmosphere and noise and the spirit that brings would have got us over the finish line with the three points.

People were even leaving with 5 minutes to go when we were chasing an enormously important goal. So In that respect, Scholes is right and we are all adults and should learn to face it and address that the support in the stadium was poor today.

Most of the pundits are incompetent and Scholes is no exception but I agree with what he said about the crowd.

Can't argue with this . A lot of the people near me tonight could have been at a cinema watching a film ,they were watching but had no input... City fans are too polite at times ,too inhibited ,too 'middle class' to raise hell and it spreads around the place. I really feel we should think hard before expanding the seating.

There's no way someone so biased towards United and against City should be commenting on a City Champion's League game, if the roles were reversed do you really think a former City player, with very vocal anti United opinions, would be commenting on a United game? Would they fuck.

i didn't see it but my other half said that before kick off, at half 7 when coverage started - he already had it in for us and used the phrase "i was fortunate enough to play at the magnificent old trafford and we couldn't wait to get out there on champions league nights the place was buzzing, but look at it here - 15 minutes til kick off and it's empty".

i mean criticise in the match if you want, slag off the performance or the atmosphere afterwards, but to moan before kick off that people were outside/late/in the bar/at home - wtf!

It's the chicken and the egg , what comes first? Give the fans something to get excited about and they will shout and sing, but if you preform as we did tonight then it's going to be quiet.

Scholes was a disgrace his hatred of us was plain to see and he talked utter bollocks, the crowd was loud trust me and sang a lot and for the thick pig headed's information we have beaten Bayern TWICE so far, wanker!!

how many fucking games will it take for it to sink in to manuels head, against a packed midfield we cant play a midfield two with yaya as a defencive mid he`s too fucking idle to follow the runners. play him as an attacking mid or put him on the bench
