i wouldn't mind but all they seem to do in the last week before summer holidays is play games watch films and wear their own clobber
mcmanus said:Right, holiday companies and travel agents do NOT put the prices up in the school holidays. That's the correct cost. They reduce the price during school term time.
Shouldn't it be up to them to prove you do.tidyman said:I was sent a £60 fine because my daughter, who doesn't even live with me, went off on holiday during school time.
Apparently I have two weeks to prove I don't live with her or the fine will be doubled.
Not that I'll be paying it anyway.

I'm guessing most teachers know roughly which part of a subject they will going through a couple of week in advance so if the parents give them some notice they would be able to sort some homework out. Its better than just taking 120 quid off parents who have saved a lot more.

Yes, because teachers have nothing better to do than to find homework for kids who don't bother to turn up at school.

it should already be planned and ready to be set.

Weeks in advance?
I wouldn't have thought so - not if it is done correctly anyway.
