Scotlands new Hate speech/crime bill.

You’re only allowed to read from sources Stoner and Rascal allow.

Putting aside the blatant ad hominem fallacies, I actually think there's a fair bit of Spiked that they might agree with, especially when it comes to Spiked's opposition to Western intervention.

Back on topic, another great article about the bill from Neil Oliver.

And to preempt some, yes The Times is or has been funded by Rupert Murdoch.

Thanks. I do know from previous experience that acrimonious exchanges are par for the course when it comes to online forums. However, I have found this place to be pretty impressive so far and have found myself learning from posts that challenge my own perspective, though maybe I have been a bit lucky so far.

Anyway, over and above the issue of free speech, here's cartoonist Davey Jones's wonderful summation of how the media actually works in this country.

Some of it is interesting, but so much is delivered in polemic with the wheat in a swirl of chaff.

That sums Dacre and the tabloids up though.

Thankfully some of the Stasi-like provisions have been removed from this bill but it's still pretty unpalatable reading for a supposedly Western, secular society.

Hopefully, Starmer isn't going to use it as a blueprint for his new racial equality act.
