Scott Sinclair

It's over two years since anyone really saw him play, and didn't WBA question his attitude to training when he moaned about not being picked last season?

Forgotten Manchester City midfielder Scott Sinclair looks set to depart Eastlands this summer with the 25-year-old seeking more first-team football.

The midfielder has made just three starts for City in two seasons and now appears to be keen on a move away from the Etihad after admitting he needs more game time.

Former club Swansea City along with West Brom, Southampton and Aston Villa are believed to be showing an interest....

From CBS Radio Premiership Soccer Hour......It seemed they took this from a Ladbrokes article :)

We will probably be looking at 2-3m ?

Once a player wants playing time rather than just a salary it may be he will accept lower wages, it would be nice if we could have a bidding war, but lets be realistic we are not going to get back what we paid he has been with the club what three seasons so his book value is probably around the 2m mark anything above that would be a bonus.

Like with other players I wish him well at whatever club he goes to, just a pity he was not up to the required level to make it with us. Not the players fault on this occasion.

I can see him leaving, I reckon the clubs that will be looking at him are just waiting around to try and get him on the cheap later in the window. He isn't a marquee signing to any club really so they will be happy for us to soak up his wages and then I reckon we will see a flurry of bids on deadline day and he will leave probably quite late on.

You know what, I'd keep him.

For the sake of £2m/£3m and minimal wages, we may as well keep him here as a backup winger/forward.
With Negredo out injured, Lopes and Rusnak out on loan and City struggling with the homegrown rules, and Sinclair being available in both the Premier League and Champions League squads without taking up a valuable foreign slot makes sense to me. He has looked good in preseason and never really got his chance at City. He's pacy, he can finish. He's no world beater but a potential squad player. Unless he really wants to force a move, I'd hold on to him this season.

We have already 5 homegrowns to fulfill that quota and we have 16 foreigners for that and we can name 21 man squad MAX. Therefore despite Sinclair being homegrown he can't be registered due to limit of players. And in PL squads you can leave empty slots for HG players.

No use for him, Championship is his level.

Fair enough, but I feel he's worth more than what we'd get for him.

He's worth what someone is willing to pay. His price tag is hardly exorbitant and should be within the range of any other Premier League club, and most Championship clubs too, yet we await something concrete which tells us what we need to know.

Those "minimal" wages will be about £2 million per year plus the £3 million we should get for a transfer. That £5 million could be used elsewhere.
