The problem is he's on about £60k a week. That's £15m commitment on a five year contract without even paying for him. If you can pay a similar quality player £30k a week, which should be possible, you've immediately got an extra £7.5m for the transfer. That means we'll struggle to get £3m for him from the majority of clubs, unless he agrees a wage cut and why would he?CityFan94 said:I don't understand the ridiculing Sinclair gets on here.
Fair enough he's not at our level, but he's still a good player.
He was very good at Swansea and was a big part of them getting promoted and staying up.
If we sell him for £3 million, considering Championship strikers are going for £10 million, that's pretty poor business.
Presume he's got 3 years left, so we could pay him off half his wages for that period to allow a smaller team to afford him, that's £4.5m it'd cost us, so we'd want £8m+ back.
That's the issue we've got with all the players we'd like to get rid of and is one of the reasons we're moving to incentive based salaries
