Scottish Cup Final - Rangers v Hibs

As a hibby I have enjoyed this thread.

I can say I was one of them who were on the park in Saturday. And I can say I just didn't know what to do. I wanted to grab my heros. That is all.

Probably shouldn't have been on the pitch. But I'd do it again.

The Huns are very bitter.

The statement Sevco produced yesterday is nothing short of appalling. Claiming their fans were right to run on the pitch and fight the Hibs fans because 'they were protecting the club'. There's clear videos of the huns kicking folk who are lying on the ground and assaulting children and a fucking police horse. All long after the players have let the field.

I'm all for a pitch invasion if done in good spirits, they're a regular occurance and the majority of the Hibs fans on the pitch on Saturday were on it for the 'right' reasons.

Unfortunately a small minority went overboard and they should be punished for that. It can't be condoned. But for Sevco to come out and say that they done nothing wrong and it was all Hibs fault is fucking disgraceful.

Not only that but they've called out individual journalists for reporting on what's happened - when the video evidence is widely available to everyone!!

Horrible club, just like their predecessors.

Nevertheless, on the football side of things, a good weekend of football!

The best football anthem, bar none. Marvellous to see and a reminder of football at it's communal best.
As for that lot stuck in the 19th century in Govan, the statement was astounding and leads one to to think that
there's very few sensible types at the club to reign in the hysteria instead of playing up the the rabid elements on the stands.

well done Hibees... :)

Some of the footage is really shocking. At first I thought it was a storm in a tea cup but the more you see the worse it gets from a Hibs point of view.
Can see serious repercussions for Hibs.
Damage to park, goals and advertising could cost them.
Add on the assaults to the Rangers players and this could cost them big time.
Rangers statement would be better if they mentioned the smoke bombs and the constant bigotry that came from their end throughout the 90 mins.
Shame we are talking about the aftermath instead of a great game.

Agreed. Neither set of fans covered themselves in glory. Pity really, as that is what most of the game discussion is about, rather than the game, which as excellent. Certainly more entertaining than the drying paint at Wembley on saturday evening.

just come across this thread, and as a hibee/city fan i was at the game on saturday. can only say the likeliness between this game and city vs qpr was simply uncanny. as an avid fan of both city and hibs, the memories of 13/5/12 came flooding back and it was as if i was reliving it all over again. from scoring 2 goals late on to win a long awaited trophy to seeing the despair on rival faces (rangers/united) both occasions were simply magnificent. having missed my chance to invade the pitch at the qpr game due to sheer shock i didnt waste the opportunity this time. can honestly say city winning the title on that day in 2012 and hibs winning the scottish cup on saturday were the two best days of my life. simply magical
