If, as we always hear, they can’t afford it, well, don’t argue on one hand you don’t want to fill your ground with both Glasgow clubs in games where thousands of seats are empty and fail to use that income to have a pitch and improve your resources to buy and retain better players.
3,000 seats at £30 a pop for example x 4 games is £360k. That buys you a pitch, and from there on the money secures you to reach viability and an ability to improve. We win all these games anyway, other teams having more resources to have better players could change that. Empty stands is infantile in both financial and progressing as a team. So, get out and support your team, accept that having stands empty helps in keeping you where you are. Either way they should be banned from the top flight, but to replace them would cost a fortune and most clubs up here are living hand to mouth. I would love to see the evidence. They obviously save money in not having to maintain but the bottom line us if you don’t have a grass pitch then sorry but you need to change that. Open up the ground and raise nearly £500k a year that not only covers the cost of a pitch but growth. I hope they do because empty seats looks shit.
