Good job Elgin City just managed, by one point, to avoid the play off at the bottom of Scottish League Two. All of the other bottom berths in the divisions are held by Highland teams: Ross County, Cove Rangers (R), and Peterhead (R). Coincidence?
Fuck Elgin, cheating bastards.

Id expected a bit more from Elgin once they took the step up but they are just small fry. Peterhead, Cove never had much of a support. Ross County are a small town team punching well above their weight and Inverness C Thistle are an abomination whose creation killed one club who had a chance to be a real force. Sigh.

Just feels as if the teams from the Highlands are currently struggling. Maybe they have less financial clout.

Smaller population. There’s more Old Firm glory hunters up here than any team. Then Aberdeen fans.

In 1992, Caledonian FC took 6000 fans to St Johnstone for a winter midweek cup replay, and another 1000 were locked out. Caley could have been as big as Dundee/M’well. When the merger hit everyone walked away. Lots just glory hunted the OF, lots just gave up and embraced the SKy revolution (It happened 94) and watched English fitba. When the merger happened, Caley had 1m cash in the bank, owned their ground, they were richer than Celtc at the time.

All good points, but it doesn’t fully explain why the teams coming via the Lowland route are currently in the ascendancy; there are presumably many Old Firm supporters from these areas as well. If Spartans beat Albion Rovers, the capital could have four clubs in the senior divisions next year, which I think would be the first time that has happened since the 1940s.

It’s easier to attract players if you are based in the Central belt.

Not a coincidence, they’re just shit.

Just give them the title now.
Scandalous decision.
Spoiled a very good Hearts performance in the first half.
Did the MOPEs get a shocking decision to their advantage ? I find that hard to believe.

Celtic strolled to the title, 2-0 win at Tynecastle.
Easy to play football when the refs shite it to book any of their players and it’s been going on for years. Any foul against them though is an automatic card.
Yes, they were the best team in the league but it’s easy to play with confidence for the reasons above.
We’ll see what their results in the CL next season are when they get reffed properly. Same as this season or worse.

Well we had players booked today and you got away with a stonewall penalty again, The day I listen to a Rangers fan about refs he’ll will freeze over. 2 in a row and more to come. That’s a full season you’ve gone again without a penalty awarded against you, with half of the ones you get sift as fuck. Look last week when that useless bastard Lbstrum
Should have been off first few minutes. Then that other useless prick Barisic diving on a booking looking for a penalty and gets away with it. Then there was Don saying to OReilyy he was going to give a foul. Was he fuck, the dirty cheating bastard was turning away thinking one of your statues would clear it. Take away your penalties and you’re even further behind.

I’m sure Celtic would have won under their own steam- they are the superior side- but in a League where the authorities purposefully arrange the fixtures so as to avoid the Old Firm meeting in such a high-stakes game, it’s hardly surprising.

No doubt but Hearts were on the front foot most of the game today.
Hard enough with 11 men far less 10.

Funny how that mob never demand foreign referees to be brought in now.
I would take foreign refs in a minute. And I also want refs to state who they support, problem with that, is no one will be able to ref a Gers match bar maybe one. Might get a game for them in the rebuild thiugh, but won’t be able to officiate.

And Benny, that decision I agree was totally harsh, but you got away with a blatant handball penalty against us and I can’t remember that being mentioned at the time.

Another Beaton Belter helping his team. Fucking joke Rangers fans complaining we get an easy time from refs. But, you have to factor in they also thought we would fold. Swings and roundabouts reality grasp wise. And no doubt if Beale signs ten players, the Treble is in the bag will be The Cry.

No penalties against Rangers, but, nothing to see. They get awarded the most for too, again nothing to see.

My arse, everyone can fucking see it.

A stonewall penalty that occurs outside the box isn’t really stonewall
