It's actually interesting up there this season. Which it hasn't been for a long long time. What looks like a proper title race. It'd be great if a third side could bridge the gap, but I suppose we should be thankful for Rangers actually landing a manager who knows what he's doing.

Hearts are a very decent team with a bit of quality they just haven’t been consistent enough. Naismith is not particularly popular down Ibrox way but credit where it’s due. He’s done a fantastic job.

Hopefully a club like Hearts could get a few years of group stage European football and invest the money and gradually build a club capable of competing for trophies

No chance or any other Premier league side.

I keep hearing people want a more competitive league but I’m not so sure many at the Old Firm honestly really do!

European football , at the moment, is the only way for other clubs to bring in finance.

Derek McInnes is doing a great job assembling a very decent squad on very little. They have the stadium capacity and support. There is potential there.

Hibs and Aberdeen have potential but both clubs are all over the place that just burn through managers! Noticed that they don’t seem to be getting the crowds that they could be getting

Obviously the problem these clubs have is holding on to their players to sustain a challenge

I’m an optimist and live in hope that there can be some kind of restructuring of our league system that would see money coming into the game and more fairly distributed

The third placed club in the premier league is guaranteed group stage football as long as we maintain our current coefficient

It’s not beyond Hearts to make Third theirs for a few years

Aye but qualifying from the group is a different matter.

Absolutely

The point I’m trying to get over is IF a club , for example Hearts, could establish themselves in third position and IF we can maintain our current coefficient then it’s not out of the realms of possibility that club could maintain a challenge to the top 2.

Hearts didn’t have the best of starts in the league and had key players injured but on current form are up there with Rangers and Celtic.

Tynecastle is not the easiest of places to get a result and especially the way Hearts are playing at the moment.

If you are playing Group stage football on a consistent basis it’s also a huge pull for players from abroad

It’s just a thought but I’d never say never on a club with the potential Hearts have of competing to at least split top 2

Think Hearts were the last non old firm team to finish second in1998 when both were in the SPL.
No doubt we will struggle against yous tomorrow, hope not but never confident against yous.

I’m not confident at all for tomorrow or midweek away to Kilmarnock.

Todd Cantwell has been excellent the last month or two but he’s out for 3 or 4 weeks. I like McCausland as a promising youngster but still not convinced he should be an automatic starter.

I know you weren’t happy with the referee the last game at Ibrox but I blame the Hearts defender for you dropping 3 points. He doesn’t grab the Rangers player and give away the penalty Hearts win that game and IMO Celtic win the league. That was a bit of a turning point for us and people started to really believe we could challenge with that injury time winner.

Oh and I’m sure you remember Hearts won the Championship ahead of Rangers.
