What are we thinking if his suggestion that footballers get vaccinated now and plough the money spent on testing back into the NHS?

All professional footballers over 70 will be getting their jab pretty soon. No need for Dyche's queue-jumping. Just another example of where some people feel they have an entitlement beyond the rest of the population, and to make it a little more palatable they throw in the line about some cash for the NHS. Football should simply be shut down for the time being; the players could then stay at home like other non-essential workers. That way, they almost certainly won't get Covid. Long Covid could easily hit some of these people and destroy their careers. It's not worth it; stop the money-grubbing and start being sensible.

I responded to this in the Covid thread, to be honest having thought about it over the last hour, it doesn’t sit right with me.

Their is a a stinking arrogance and elitism coming out of football, they think they’re different to the rest of society and many players are ignoring the rules.

the only moral argument to support this is probably mental health ones whereby us football fans can watch endless numbers of games seemingly every day.

but that comes at a price if the football authorities had their priorities right we’d all be getting free streaming
