Gutted by this. He was one of my favourite comedians, had natural wit that many more well known comedians lack. 15 stories high is an incredibly underrated comedy too. Will be missed.

I don't know whether the cancer was a short battle but I do recall him returning to 8 out of ten cats a while back and I remarked he looked unwell

Ye he was very thin and his head shaved me and the wife said he looked as though he had cancer back then, but he appeared later with weight back on and thought he gone through a diet phase. Good comedian RIP, 58 is no age.

Man, this feels like it's come out of the blue but I guess I've not been keeping up with things. Such a shame

Always thought he was one of the funniest guys out there. Not so much as a stand up comedian, where he was excellent, but as just a guy who was naturally really funny. Someone who'd be fucking hilarious all the time, rather than someone who could come up with a good set.

First thought when I read it was cancer was when I remember him coming back on TV and his voice had changed, Lee Mack has said he knew this day was coming for a while :(
