Season card renewal package has arrived

This new price structure is killing me and the club are now forcing me out. I can't sit where I want and a price increase beyond anything sensible. I Sent below email to Garry Cook got some flunky on the phone to reply to me who basically said ....tough......the North Stand has been shafted.

As a eleven year season ticket holder I find it amazing to be treated in the way you are proposing, with the announced new season tickets.
I have held the same seat with my father and sister from the Platt Lane stand at Maine Road to the North Stand at COMS.
I am now being told that I am no longer entitled to keep this seat as it is being used for a new family stand.
If I choose to move to an equivalent area in the South Stand I face a 9.75% increase in the price of the ticket (not the advertised headline 5%).
The South Stand is not an acceptable relocation for myself as my father would find it difficult to stand for the length of the match, as is the want of the fans in this stand.
This then leaves the next cheapest options being the East Stand meaning a 39.57%, 35.50%, 28.73% increase on last years ticket (£369), depending on area.
I understand that ticket prices have been pegged back in recent years and have been thankful for that fact, considering the turgid football I have experienced in some seasons.
The fact that I am being moved from my seat against my wishes and then being asked to pay a premium for the privilege has made me question for the first time whether I renew my ticket for next year or not. This considering I sat through three years of football under Stuart Pearce is a big statement on my behalf.
I like to think of myself as a dedicated blue and have this year personally introduced new supporters to the club as well as bringing corporate customers. My family are one of the subjects in the film 'Blue Moon Rising' and I was until this morning looking forward to a successful conclusion to this season and the excitement of the season to come.
With the current state of the economy as it is I cannot understand how you can treat longstanding customers as you are. I do think you are taking advantage of the fact that following a football club is an emotional connection that is hard to break. I am however close to breaking point with my family having to find at least an additional 28.73% each.

I am now awaiting a reply to the following email and calculations I have made

Further to my below email and telephone conversation with one of your representatives this afternoon, I feel compelled to further detail my frustration and disappointment with the club over this matter.
Following on from my telephone conversation I have further analyzed my options for next season and detail them out as follows:
1. Move to the South Stand - This is not an option as my father would be unable to stand for the entire length of the match as is the custom in this stand. I also do not believe there are any available tickets as this is the 'hard core' section and is always full. Conclusion=NOT ACCEPTABLE
2. Move to the East or Colin Bell Stand - Blocks 121 and 110 are not an option as they have exactly the same characteristics as the South Stand. This then leaves out of the entire ground Blocks 131 & 142 these are priced at £475 against my ticket of £369 last season. This gives an increase in cost to me of £106 or 28.73%. Conclusion=INCREASE IN COST OF 28.73% FOR A WORSE VIEW/EXPERIENCE
3. Stay in North Stand - Taking into account I am 1 of a party of 3 adults, if we purchase 3 adult tickets and 2 child tickets (for non existent children) the total cost would be £1,405 divide this cost between the 3 adults = £468. Conclusion=CHEAPEST OPTION AVAILABLE TO ME AND GIVES ME MORE ROOM AROUND SEAT DUE TO TWO UNUSED SEATS (I know this is not what you foresaw with this option but the math's do not lie)
*All seats not on level 1 have not been looked at as they are physically not acceptable to my party.
I would also like to further note that you are imposing this move on ALL North Stand members who do not now fit the qualification criteria and requesting that we finalize our move between 3-7 May. Why not move all members who now qualify for the 'new' Family Stand out of the rest of the stadium before we have to select our new seats. This would at least give ourselves more seating options within the small areas left in the stadium that are financially attainable to ourselves.
I applaud the club for its commitment to child supporters, as no one can argue that they are the future life blood of this club. However I cannot hide my dismay that I am being moved to a worse viewing area of the ground and being asked to pay considerably more for this, as you would describe 'customer experience' (and consequentially more year on year).
As is shown by my calculation for the cost of staying in the North Stand, childless supporters are subsidizing these tickets disproportionately. Of course cost is a factor in my frustration but the lack of credible choice in an acceptable alternative seat is my major concern with little time or options given to ourselves by the club.
This has ruined my trip to Arsenal for me and to the coming important matches towards our push for Europe and unfortunately all I can think about is how this will be my last season of watching my beloved Blues in the flesh due to the onerous restrictions and excessive cost increases made to my ticket.
I can with all my heart say that for me this season has been badly tainted by the clubs actions in dealing with all my fellow North Stand season ticket holders in this matter.

Whats with the ridiculously short time scales to renew.

I have to renew between 5-11 June which coincidentally is when I'm abroad luckily City have thought of that and stated in their letter

'If you are away at the time please contact our customer services team who WILL DO THEIR BEST to assist you'

Very big of you City. You do your best and if its not enough I'll just miss out should I? At least though I can get a second bite of the cherry and pay 10% more for another seat.

With all the different dates and short time scales I can only see major problems ahead as everyone tries to sort it out in a short space of time, some people will forget to renew given the short period and guaranteed Citys ticket office/lines will be woefully undermanned once again.

God knows what its going to be like if we actually do win something soon!

As a northstander I am so fucked off about having to move yep my lad is 14 but lets face it in 2 years we will have to move and do we want rugrats kicking the backs of chairs. Plus when we get forced to move all the decent seats will be gone. I have no doubt its all down to that genius Gary cook what a wanker. Improve the atmospher get more corporates in remove the soul of the club hhmmmmmm that will work. So my seat good view will now go to someone who thinks yeah City are doing well may aswell support them then i will have to pick from whats left in other stands. and the cheeky gits are charging 45 quid more for other parts of the ground for kids yep that family friendly cook you wanker

I cant see it working. I think this is probably going to back fire and the club will eventually have to have a rethink. I could understand it if there was a warchest of people who would gladly take the tickets of blues who do not renew, but I doubt that there is. I can well imagine City spending loads of cash on various superstars, but only playing in front of 35 thousand fans.

Like said previously by a few.
It is Catch22 on Level 2, due to unknown price for 2011. Ticket office reckon DOUBLE!!!!
Well the four of us(me, sister, Bro in law and Nephew 18YEAR OLD) that have sat together for 20+ years (nephew only last few) wont be able to find 4 together unless want 3rd tier corners I fear.

So like A N Other on here it is cheaper for me to buy a season ticket in Family Stand plus a kids ticket for my other 9 year old nephew who wont come to the games, but keep that ticket for the next 7 years and can wait to see what available each year during this period. It will however mean that will no longer sit with FAMILY at our FAMILY CLUB.

Should have tried Colin Bell 2nd Level first and see up take.

Might even try for £250 ticket as well just incase is a good one that I get and keep that afterwards.

In the last ten years at Maine Road thousands had to move because the Platt Lane was redeveloped, thousands had to move because the Kippax was redeveloped, thousands had to move because they kept moving the away fans. Then we had to move to another stadium. So we all moved.
But you know what? - we are still here!

For most of the last ten years at Maine Road the team was in a tail spin and there was a complete lack of investment, we didnt see our prices drop significantly despite seeing some of the worst football ever played at the ground
But you know what? - we are still here!

Now we have what we have dreamed of for so long. Massive investment (and that's an understatement) in our team and facilities and everything around the club is getting bigger and better. We have shouted for a singing section and we are listened to. Many parents wanted spaces in the family stand but it is full. And quite honestly the balls up for the move to the south stand for the Wigan game proved that singing stands and young kids and parents don't mix so they have done something about it. We are chasing the Champions League and everyone on here is getting giddy, this is because our fantastic owners have invested hundreds of millions of pounds and we sing about it and take the piss out of everyone else cos they can't do the same. Whether we do qualify for Champs league or not we are in the Europa and will hopefully have many more games next year and, this may be a bit if an exclusive, but the club won't be letting us in for nowt so there will be loads moaning on here about the no shows for those games when probably these people have real financial reasons for not coming rather than all the moaning about an extra couple / few quid per game.
Despite the moves and the increases.
You know what? - we will still be here!

34 years and we're still here
(except those who despite seeing the best team in blue for a couple of generations wont commit to paying the cost of a pint per game for the priveledge).

Get a fucking grip and listen to yourselves whingeing

lets keep this simple,

i dont particularly LIKE having to find substantially more for my seasoncard, particularly,( having been forced out of the North Stand) into an area not ideally of my choosing, however i WILL.

My worry is simple, 3 of us, make a 300 mile round trip to EVERY home game, (and as many away as possible ) often not getting home until 2 am for night games.

I believe that the club should be trying to match up our need for 3 seats together, (in an acceptable location) with seats that become available as others relocate into the new Family Stand ( as it wishes to move us ). The club are morally obliged to at least try to solve a problem of its making, rather than leave us, and others to take part in a telephone lottery on various specific date. Has everyone forgotten the telephone meltdown for Hamburg tickets?

The club has caused this problem, (and i do understand their reasoning), but they should be pro- active and sort it out,

If you currently sit in a group, and are being forced out the club should guarantee that you will still sit in a group at your new location.

It's farcical if people won't be able to sit next to the people they've always sat next to.

Why can't family stand renewals be done online?

I can see 10/11 being my last as a season ticket holder.

A McDonalds/Disneyland/Multiplex cinema 'experience' with some football attached is not what I want at a match. Time to go to a proper football club in League 1.
