Season ticket holders non attenders numbers

I agree to a point, but the club are well aware people work shifts, get pregnant, and have long term illneses or care commitments. And they are certainly aware games get moved all over the place for TV.
The bold cohorts could be discriminated against by the policy so reasonable adjustments will be made, however those working shifts and living long distances away won't be as they are not protected characteristics.

What you are asking for is to have the same price of match day tickets for someone going to half the games as someone going to all the games! Shouldn’t someone committing to every game get some sort of discount?
No I'm not, there's nothing stopping a flexi gold holder from going to all games, the difference is they are penalised if they go to less than 16 games, where as a season card holder isnt & can transfer a certain number of tickets via the ticket exchange

If you only go to 9 games you won’t be able to renew your flexi gold anyway.

I’m personally very happy with the change as I paid £150 last year and didn’t get that back.
I did 13 games so if I do that this year I will get £97.50 back of my £120!
That makes even less sense if the club are advising fans to downgrade to a flexi if they can't make 10 games & then they won't be able to renew a flexi

City have spent £300m plus on a new stand, offices, hotel. It's uneconomic. It will take decades to recover that money and at the very least there are more profitable ways to invest £300m. My point is not everything City do has a narrow money focus. More likely they just don't appreciate fans circumstances.
I thought the idea of increasing the stadium to 60k was so they were eligible for Euroopean finals.

Sorry but trade union blues do not represent me on this. If you're a season card holder and can't attend 10 matches what is the actual point of holding one?

I appreciate exceptional circumstances like being pregnant and illness which I am sure the club would allow.
So if you buy a season ticket at the beginning of the season with all games pencilled in for 3pm on a Saturday. We have a reasonable idea that the big 6 games are likely to be 4.30pm on a Sunday & probably 2 3pm Saturday kick offs early in the season & after that we've got know idea what time & date the rest of the games so how can you expect people to plan a) holidays at work & b) transport because even a midweek 7.30pm kick off is a struggle if you're a9 to 5 worker.

What?
Go to the press ??
Oh the MEN would love it. I can see it now. Mum and Dad met as season ticket holders at Maine Rd. Baby Asa attends his first game as a babe in arms. Has his first season ticket age 5. 20 years later, this hard working lad, after a 4 year apprenticeship and making his way up the ladder, faces losing his season ticket because he cannot guarantee he personally will attend 10 games. Even though his seat it never empty, it’s only ever shared by someone in the same household with the same surname. He works 12 hour rotating day and night shift, 4 on, 4 off, knows his shifts for the next 12 months and is willing to take leave to accommodate matches. But because many of those games will move, he may fall short at the end of the season.
The MEN love a stick to beat City with!

I have said this before and will say again, the club wants as many seats possible not to be occupied by SC holders. We may pay our money up front or via direct debit but we don't spend £250 on merchandise, we don't spend another £200 on a hotel room, we don't pay a fortune to take three kids on ground tour, in short we don't provide huge income for the club and we don't pay stupid amounts for a match day ticket. The problem now is that having now reduced match day prices the value in buying a SC has almost disappeared apart from less hassle and sitting with your mates. It used to be a big financial bonus to have a SC, not so sure these days and with most games being shown live then it makes having a SC less and less attractive the older I get.

Sending legal letters, not sure that is the right way to go at this moment in time

It's a bit heavy handed but the season starts in about two months and these things tend to move slowly.
However I still think the fans should hold off as I believe there will be a lot of empty seats when the extension opens even with the reduced prices, and the club may realise they need the fans they are beginning to alienate.

12,000 more seats available just a few miles away and it doesn't always rain in the next borough so the leaky roof might not be a problem. - And they have three tram lines and a small hotel compared to one tram line and a posh hotel.

So why are they issuing all these new ST's then?

That will be a factor but that was not what I was trying to get at. I think the investment in the stadium is rational but it probably is not economical. This is a major example of something that City do which isn't motivated by profit.

When you become a billionaire you can apparently do as you wish, see Elon Musk.

So why are they issuing all these new ST's then?
We should check the numbers for this ... I am not sure these are NEW STs (i.e. net of ST holders last year who have not reviewed theirs).

It may well be the case that - considering non-renewals - in the net we have fewer STs than last year. I presume only the club knows for sure. Which means extra profits due to higher Matchday prices, tours, merchandise, etc.

Unfortunately I've seen people affected by this say on social media that they've been told different things on exemptions depending on who they got through to on City's helpline. It seems they are making it up as they go along, so even the exemptions aren't what they seem. They also didn't say anything about these exemptions until after the initial renewal announcement.

And equalities act exemptions aside, what about the many shift workers who make up our seasonticket holding fanbase? My little brother has had his seasonticket for 18 years, and at the moment he works 12hr shifts 4 days on 4 days off at a factory in Wythenshawe. Depending on fixture rescheduling he can miss 2 games in 4 days, and he barely hit 10 home games last season despite using the majority of his annual leave to attend City games.

He's not covered by these exemptions, neither are supporters who live all over the country. Yet his seat didn't go empty once last season. I think people are getting bogged down in whether or not they can make 10 games themselves, without thinking about all the different ways this affects fellow Blues from all walks of life. Even seen this lad today in the military affected by it!

The club should reverse the policy and reach out to the ST holders who haven't made any games last season, they were all too quick to tell the MEN that there were 1200 of them, so they obviously know exactly who they are?
