Season ticket news?

Re: Superbia - Membership 2011/12

I'm guessing top pointers will get first refusal rather than exclusivity and those not taken up will be offered to fans on lower points, I can't see the club just binning gold memberships not sold in the first offering. I doubt we'll be told how many gold memberships are available. The upshot will be that points requirements for in demand games will increase in real terms and fans currently near the cut off for these will be the ones to miss out.

Re: Superbia - Membership 2011/12

well I'm hoping for 2 more £250 "value seasoncards" again next season

had enough points to get to see both Wembley games too!!

Re: Superbia - Membership 2011/12

Don't like the way this looks like it's going. I hope I'm proved wrong but it seems like money is the only thing we are interested in and before anyone comes up with "if u want x and y playing for you" nonsense well it's a good job people like me and thousands of others did put our cash in years ago or we might not be in the posistion we are in now!!

Re: Superbia - Membership 2011/12

What the fuck has happened to football. The days of it being a working mans game are more than long gone. Lets get as many rich, silent corporates in as possible and make some money. Disgusts me to be honest cant believe its happening at the club i have grown up with and love.

Re: Superbia - Membership 2011/12

There has to be an element of attracting the wealthy fan, especially with the initial outlay the owners have spent on the club.

My hope is that this target market is not left too big which dwarfs out the fans who are on your standard £250-£300 a week, 9-5 job like me.

I think the fans' fears in this thread is that this will happen on a large scale, leaving bag loads of seats empty for lower class games that they may be priced out of. Similar fear as what happened with the family stand. Done on too large a scale and now being scaled down, leaving some the people that had to move out of there a little peeved to say the least.

Here we go, give it 10 years and the majority of lads and lasses who currently go will be watching it in the pub whilst the ground will be full of rich folk and tourists.

It's started, Manchester United Mk II, we will become everything we have ever hated about them and become hypocritical at the same time.

I'm just glad i was there yesterday, no one will ever take that memory away from me when i have been priced out and watching it with fellow priced out blues in the pub in 5-10 years time.

Unless you've got inside info, you haven't got a clue, just like the rest of us. Probably better to hold out and see what's what before jumping to such conclusions?

-- 15 May 2011, 20:01 --

Look at Chelsea mate; Carling and FA Cups, League winners, CL finalists... still can't move from Stamford Bridge.

I'll put it out there that if we've dreams of attracting 80k fans a week to CoMS, then we really need to revolutionise what we're doing in some way more than success... and it won't be by asking fans for £2.5k a season.

Look at Utd and the waiting lists they use to have; they're still winning, they're still successful be they've less and less fans wanting the 'live match day experience'.

Personally i think it's down to costs increasing so much and the fact football fans are generally treated like shit where ever they go. If we want an increase on the 45k we already get, then we'll have to start the revolution of dramatically reduced ticket prices, stop chucking people out for smoking, drinking inside a blue box and swearing too loudly and stop concentrating on families and instead go after our biggest and most consistent demographic.

It won't happen though. We'll continue to increase this sterile, family orientated, middle of the roadness which i can see turning a lot of people off, as seasons go by, the buzz decreases and people may start to not bother, as ticket prices start hitting £100+ (or £300+ as is the case for the for CL final)

Re: Superbia - Membership 2011/12

Unless I'm missing something, from the OP's clarification this sheme "guarantees" tickets to all Cup & away matches - it doesn't include them.

IMO - This is the level 2 scheme, they are just offering it to those most loyal fans first - so basically a season ticket (prob inc home cup games) for the the top seats is £2500, but it comes with benefits??

Re: Superbia - Membership 2011/12

Listen I am not rich nor am I on the breadline, however if my Seasoncard goes up 10% (Southstand 2) it works out approx £2.50 per league game which if you ask me is still very cheap comparable to other clubs considering the amount of money the good Sheikh Mansour has invested in us. If I have to I will buy 1 less packet of Golden Virginia every 2 weeks to afford it. If this helps the club by ensuring FFP rules arent broken then I feel it is money well spent to see the next phase of our development and the type of players we will bring in. Nothing is for nothing in this life and I believe we have had it good since we moved to the stadium - our ticket prices were Frozen for about 3 years and no one complained then !!
This is'nt meant to offend anyone who may be financially struggling, just an observation that the reality is that we are talking a couple of quid extra per game over 19 home games to watch quality players.

Re: Superbia - Membership 2011/12

This is slightly off topic but if someone could help me i'd be grateful.

I haven't been able to get to any games recently due to lack of funds, now however circumstances have changed. I was going to look into getting a seasoncard but would this even be posssible? With not having a membership for the past couple of seasons would i even be eligable? How would this new scheme affect my plans?
