Here we go, give it 10 years and the majority of lads and lasses who currently go will be watching it in the pub whilst the ground will be full of rich folk and tourists.
It's started, Manchester United Mk II, we will become everything we have ever hated about them and become hypocritical at the same time.
I'm just glad i was there yesterday, no one will ever take that memory away from me when i have been priced out and watching it with fellow priced out blues in the pub in 5-10 years time.
Unless you've got inside info, you haven't got a clue, just like the rest of us. Probably better to hold out and see what's what before jumping to such conclusions?

-- 15 May 2011, 20:01 --

There has to be an element of attracting the wealthy fan, especially with the initial outlay the owners have spent on the club.
My hope is that this target market is not left too big which dwarfs out the fans who are on your standard £250-£300 a week, 9-5 job like me.
I think the fans' fears in this thread is that this will happen on a large scale, leaving bag loads of seats empty for lower class games that they may be priced out of. Similar fear as what happened with the family stand. Done on too large a scale and now being scaled down, leaving some the people that had to move out of there a little peeved to say the least.
Look at Chelsea mate; Carling and FA Cups, League winners, CL finalists... still can't move from Stamford Bridge.
I'll put it out there that if we've dreams of attracting 80k fans a week to CoMS, then we really need to revolutionise what we're doing in some way more than success... and it won't be by asking fans for £2.5k a season.
Look at Utd and the waiting lists they use to have; they're still winning, they're still successful be they've less and less fans wanting the 'live match day experience'.
Personally i think it's down to costs increasing so much and the fact football fans are generally treated like shit where ever they go. If we want an increase on the 45k we already get, then we'll have to start the revolution of dramatically reduced ticket prices, stop chucking people out for smoking, drinking inside a blue box and swearing too loudly and stop concentrating on families and instead go after our biggest and most consistent demographic.
It won't happen though. We'll continue to increase this sterile, family orientated, middle of the roadness which i can see turning a lot of people off, as seasons go by, the buzz decreases and people may start to not bother, as ticket prices start hitting £100+ (or £300+ as is the case for the for CL final)
