Separately, I also have some governmental contacts backing up this ongoing planning that spectators won't be back this year.

Clearly subject to a vaccine being readily available or some certified theraputics.

Still no AIDS vaccine 40 years on so I won't hold my breath.

Premier League clubs aren't able to cut out the middle man - they need the guaranteed TV cash.

I can certainly see all games being beamed live across the entire week to keep content busy.

It’s funny, was just this morning having a chat with my son whilst running about this very issue.

Although lots of people, yourself included if I remember correctly, were saying behind closed doors footy would be the end of their affiliation with the club, I can start to see some form of logic from what the authorities are thinking.

Seems we aren’t going to get to games, pubs etc for a long while and I suppose it just might be that we all have to accept behind closed doors footy as the only way for the next 12 months or so that we get to see some live sport. Not what anyone particularly wants, but if it’s Europe/World wide then watching some footy may actually be better than having nothing to do in the days and evenings.

Agreed on that front!

I just think we are all still in some form of “honeymoon period” with this lockdown, feels like it’s been forever already yet in reality it’s only been 4 weeks. When I see headlines saying pubs might not open until Xmas etc it just brings home the sheer scale of this thing, it’s fucking crazy. Hence my point that maybe having some form of escapism, in watching footy, is what we should start to accept.

Do you think if......(and its a big if), there is no live football until 2021 and all the games are behind closed doors, that gives the league an "out" finish this season behind closed doors as and when they get the go ahead and then have a shortened break at some point and start next season in the autumn or early winter with a "plan" to reopen the grounds the 2nd half of the season, whenever that might be.

City were the Club thet insisted to the rest of the Prem that games couldn’t resume until the Government and scientific advice said that football could resume, safely.

We haven’t got a clue on when spectators will be able to return to watch football games and it probably won’t be for several months, at least. I hope we will be able to watch live games again from the start of next season (that might start in September or October I reckon) but that’s very uncertain.

Just can’t see how football can be played in front of spectators again until a viable vaccine is found , no way on earth are mass gatherings taking place for anything for the next year / two years .
