Season ticket prices 2016/17

I was disappointed last year when they introduced tiered pricing for the CB level 3 stand.
Not done it previously but obviously thought they had missed a money maker and introduced it for first time last season. Had to move to save some money and if increased this year will sadly have to lose season ticket. Will the club be worried .... no as Mister and Mrs dayout and their son with his tablet or kindle will probably buy the seat.

This does need addressing and the club could make some excellent PR out of this, at relatively little financial cost. It's a real opportunity to generate positive media coverage for a change. The best, most sought after manager in the world coming in (hopefully some world class players as well) and we reduce the cost of going to the match. Couldn't lose.

Ideally this would be a decent reduction in the cost of all season tickets (except the £299 tickets), say 5-10%, or they could increase the cost of the £299 tickets to offset a reduction in the others. I'd say a rise of even £50 would still be incredible value at £17.50 per game, although a freeze would obviously be preferable.

Alternatively they could do away with the Platinum membership all together, freeze last years Gold prices and reduce the Platinum tickets to the same level.

If the club do increase the tickets they could at least throw in free tickets to the League & FA Cups. And only give the points to the people who make it through the turnstyle!

In terms of raising this with the club, I can't see past the 1894 group given the great work over the new singing area. Seems they have a very good relationship and are able to get things done.
They could give all SeasonCards away for free and still be well up on profit with the new TV deal.

Rightly or wrongly, there appear to be more and more season card holders who feel more and more distanced from the club. Many think that the club no longer value them as supporters and are more than happy to have them replaced by new customers who are willing to pay more than they are.

Whether this is true or not, surely the fact that a proportion of our core support feels this way should be recognised by the Club and prompt some response. Many of these fans remember when we used to laugh at United for their money grasping antics to wring every last cent out of their fans & when it felt that City were different & that they cared.

Maybe we will indirectly get the response when next years season card prices are announced.

I started to feel like i didn't matter to the club when they kept bumping up SC prices way above the rate of inflation and i saw mates and family drop away year on year, every year, from 2010 onwards - just as we became a really decent side.

It hit home that the club do not give a shit about me when they move me out of my seat on CL nights to accommodate away fans (which goes against their own T&Cs) because they will just charge them extra than they would me. and it's not like i sit next to the away fans or in a sparsely attended area, i'm right on the halfway line in the East Stand, what was the City popular side and still is for so many fans. It's nowhere near the away section.

Those are UEFA's rules not City's - a certain number of the best seats in the stadium have to be given to the visiting club.

You are of course correct (in your general stance on this topic) and those harping on about the £299 tickets are missing the point quite spectacularly in their need to praise the club.

Season ticket prices will be frozen. There is a chance that some tickets will be cheaper but this is undermined by "poor" season card holders leaving their seats empty for less glamorous games e.g. Villa.

Recently bought my ticket to see Bruce Springsteen at the Etihad and some posters have led me into a rendition of "Glory Days". This is how good it was.

It's a Saturday in 1998 and I've worked Saturday morning in a plumbers merchants in Sale. Feeling a bit knackered so I've gone to the ticket office to buy a seat in the North Stand. The staff member asks which block I wish to be in and I didn't knkw so I said just give us a decent seat.

The ticket office guy spent five minutes searching through boxes at the bottom of the desk and finally produces a ragged booklet and pulls out a ticket to sell me. I proceed into the ground to find my seat is next to a concrete wall with barb wire over hanging it. I can't sit in the seat because half of the broken seat isn't there.

Apologies for not longing for a return to the "good times" but they weren't that great. Franny's City was worse than Swales lol! So I will be happy to get up at 5am on Saturday for the trip to Norwich after working 12 hours on Friday. These are the true "Glory Days"

Why would "poor" season ticket holders simply leave their seats empty when the club runs a perfectly adequate 'resale' scheme which benefits everyone and helps keep the ground full.
