Season ticket prices 2016/17

Thanks Tim and Frank. To be honest, because we come down from Edinburgh, we do tend to plan well in advance and have put the tickets up for sale weeks in advance. I can imagine it would be more of a struggle if you put tickets up for sale the week of the game.

I am in a similar situation with regards distance. So far I've managed to give to family who live local for midweek matches I can't make. But undoubtedly will need to use the exchange at some point. Glad to hear it's working

Why was it introduced as a money-maker? How much extra money did this generate in the great scheme of things? If these were 'premium' seats, then I would suggest that 90% of them were occupied by season card holders already, so why were the season card holders affected not advised beforehand? That would just be basic PR and the absolute minumum the Club could have done.

I was responding to a poster. It was him complaining that the new pricing structure was a "money maker" but benefited from the new scheme because he ended up moving seat and paying less.

The issue relating to Premium Seats was argued widely last year. My recollection was that the club had communicated ages in advance that expensive prices would be introduced for those impacted in L2. The increases weren't the surprise but rather the extent of them.

It is not a need to praise the club why people such as myself 'harp' on about the £299 tickets.

It's to provide a counterbalance to the view fans are uniformly being priced out. What is actually happening is there are undoubtedly increases in certain areas of the ground but tickets at a very reasonable of £299 are being provided and are not selling out. Additionally it seems some fans are not aware they are available or fans are able to purchase them together.

Kippax Citizen has made some valid points but it is important to point out cheaper tickets are available, can be purchased in groups, before people decide to give up something people they love because they are not aware of the options. Furthermore on a thread where fans are voicing criticism of the club, with regard pricing, it only seems fair to highlight measures the club are undertaking as well.

Again I'm with you on this Frank.

That's right Pablo about the Premium Seats. Sadly, some Blues in the affected blocks decided to jack in being season card holders and they probably make the odd game now. I chose to move from the new Joe's area (206) to Premium Seats (209).

There's been pros and cons about the changes. I can get a pint on Champions League nights in the 93:20 bar and the fans around us are still a good bunch.

Weekend games are family friendly but there has been plenty of aggression and some violence during the midweek games as away fans buy these tickets that are too expensive for many Blues. I am expecting some trouble in the Premium Seats at the Derby as some of the tickets will no doubt get sold on to rags!

I think a freeze will be our best case scenario. I can't see a decrease and surely the club would know they're scoring a huge OG press wise if they rise.
Today's news about the away cap would see us a target for abuse if we increased the current prices.

Spurs have frozen their season ticket prices.

Come on city don't be dickheads

City have a great opportunity here to send out a message to the football world in general that we are one of the best run clubs in the world. We really don't need to increase the prices a penny and can probably afford to even reduce them in some areas. The club should do the right thing and make it a statement of intent for keeping football affordable. This will help to build demand for further stadium expansion. It is the right thing to do both morally and commercially.

Can't you sell to a friend or someone else locally instead? Is it even worth having one if you don't go the 'lesser' games?
I put 'lesser' in quotation marks as I don't believe any games are less than any other. Having said that I will do what I can to make sure nothing I can affect gets in the way of the derby, dippers etc.
As for the tickets - it is worth it to me to keep a seasoncard. I live in Oxfordshire so it's not that easy to get rid. I used to give them to a mate to sell (£40 dad n lad), but since the ground extension they rarely sell. Plus there's the hassle of posting them etc. I can afford the seasoncard cost - so I see it as a hassle free way of getting good tickets for the games I can make.
Unfortunately this leaves blue seats at the mercy of red pens.
But having read some of the favourable reviews of the seat exchange I may give it a go, but being a life long procrastinator, I may not

Sorry, I thought 'money-making' was your term which was why I questioned the validity of it.

I agree with you and Tim of the Oak that season card holders in L2 were forewarned about impending upgrades to their seats and associated price increases, but this did not include the huge increases to the first third of seats in L3.

Good for you mate if you moved to save money. Serious question for you, what attracted you to a £600 ticket when you could have got one at £299, £380, £475, £500 or £550?

Surely it's obvious? I sit in the section of the ground I want to sit in. Friends who have gone from 110 to 317 regret it.
