Season Ticket Renewals - small increases (again)

plenty at £400 to £500 as well. I would say we offer a wide range of prices that compares favourably to other top clubs.

The constant price rises were to catch up with other clubs.

We’ve caught up now.

But we’re still increasing season ticket prices, while other clubs have continued to freeze their season ticket prices.

Do the club really think they have a bottomless pit of working class City fans who can keep on affording these annual season ticket price increases, or do the club not listen or care about what the fans think, and what the fans have been saying, season after season?

‘I’m happy’

That’s the problem isn’t it?

“I’m all right, Jack”.

The red line of affordability was crossed a long time ago for many working class fans. Every single increase after that red line, no matter how small, takes many fans further and further away from tickets being affordable.

I don't disagree with you but its not just at City. Our prices are still comparable with other big clubs - cheaper than most. It's just that we have had to catch up with the likes of the Rags - who had to freeze prices because they were so much higher than ours.

Mines £655. If I relocate will it be the same cost or will it be lowered in line to prices around the new location?

It's a fucking piss take again, yet so many City fans just happy to sit there and eat it up. "Ooh only £20 can't complain because the footballs so good" What a load of bollocks.

Mine has gone up £20 which is nothing in the grand scheme of things, and as I do the 10 Direct Debits I'm not sure I'll notice the £2 extra coming out of my bank account a month as I've been known to put more than that in a jukebox on the weekend.

But where does it end? They've got us completely by the bollocks here knowing that most people are so emotionally invested that they won't give it up.

With the line from the club being -

Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said: "Our season-card holders are the cornerstone of this club and, since arriving here, we have listened to their feedback and their concerns on a great range of issues. By pushing back the date for season-card renewals we hope to make some small difference to the supporters who follow the team every week.

"We have also sought to respond to fans' concerns on pricing and hope that the price freezes in some areas and discounts in most areas of the ground will be welcomed."

When did they stop listening to their feedback? The increase in season ticket prices is probably going to give the club less than an extra £1m, so it's not exactly a game changer as far as balancing the books is it?

Put it out today when everyone's brain washed about Paul Dickov scoring a goal 20 years ago and no one will bat an eye lid.

I agree with what you are saying,a freeze is well overdue, and I also agree about the "never had it so good " comments as well, but I do DD and mine (CB2) has gone up a pound a month,I've lost more running for the bus,so a tenner is fuck all really, the problem is,loads have had it too good for too long, with the value season cards as well, they should be scrapped altogether.

Pricing should be simple, but as per City it never will be,I bumped into 2 lads I've not seen for ages in a pub in London before FA Cup final, and they were telling me that just 4 rows in front of them the season tickets cost £350 more ! 4 fucking rows for fucks sake.

It Should be £350 level 1 and 3 and £500 max on level 2 all around the ground, all this sitting next to the chairman bollocks should be fucked off as well.

Like I say I don't want to sound contradictive as a tenner increase in mine is fuck all,but again the club are gonna run the risk of losing hard core season ticket holders, which does contradict the chairmans speech regarding supporters.

When the fans say “fuck off” I.e never
This is the essence of supply and demand in a nutshell. Although prices are increasing every year, I would say those seats in SS L3 at £325/£415 are astonishing value when you consider our local rivals start much higher (Rags £532/Dippers £685 at 17/18 prices) for what I assume will be similar views. I think the club are saying we need to have a comparable avg season ticket price (and my gut feeling is we are still below those clubs) but maintain access for those who cannot afford these costs. When the extension to the north stand is completed and possible safe standing is introduced, there should be a good choice for all budgets. Regular price rises are much more preferable in my view. If it becomes too expensive, then fans do have relocation options that can actually save them money. I know people don't want to hear that, but that's just the way it is.

Just in case you missed it.

Another sponsor.

English soccer heavyweights Manchester City have partnered with JNC to become the club’s official baijiu partner on a multi-year, global deal.

Baijiu is a clear Chinese liquor made from grain, with JNC being one of the leading liquor manufacturers in China.

We had to catch up?? Why do we have to catch up. Ticket revenue isn’t that much to the club now, especially with tv deals.

We could have said affordable tickets and allow thousands of city fans, local ones in particular a chance to go. Instead we are chasing the tourists and corporates
