Season Tickets - 2025/26 | Changes to ticket transfer this season (p101)

If I can't attend a game I donate my ticket to my supporters club , they then allocate it to a member who makes a donation to our chosen charity

It seems we can no longer transfer tickets to other season ticket holders?
What a farce. There's a bundle of us who mop up our tickets if one of us can't go. Prob about a dozen of us, who can all ensure that seats are filled for all games.
What the fuck?
Surely season card holders count as members?

I think City will be assuming, if you’re a season card holder, that you already have a ticket. Therefore you’re getting a ticket on your phone for someone else. Which is what they don’t want.

I agree, I’m not sure on what the issue is unless it extends to cup schemes as well.

The only other way around this is download ticket to 2 different devices. And if you are passing it on to friends and family let them use the spare phone to scan into stadium.

The issue for fans is that freedom being removed at every single opportunity. A couple of seasons ago I couldn't go much and got pally with someone who sat near me, they had a season ticket too. The games I couldn't go to I simply transferred to him and he was able to pass on to whichever family member or friend wanted to use it as it was rarely the same person. Something as simple as that is being taken from us, all to have control over where tickets are going and in this case, to get as many people signing up to £35 memberships as possible. Have to make up the lost revenue on the proposed increases from last year don't they. The beauty of it all is, they want control over where tickets are going, yet then partner up with Viagogo and such like and allow any fucker into the stadium, that is ok though as they will have paid a premium. Fucking stinks

I've just checked on my account and I think I understand the process now. I think non-member means someone without a paid membership, so with just a supporter number they get for free.

You need to add that supporter number to your F&F list then you can set them up for Ticket Transfer. So if they have a supporter number you can add them as a non-member.

But City don't make it easy to understand and they never run these communications past City Matters so that ordinary fans can see if they can understand it. I don't wonder why everyone is confused.
How do you get a supporter number without being a member or an ST Holder?

For what it's worth, I think these transfer arrangements are deplorable.

Seems to me the friend who is a supporter and had a number is now taxed £25 to have an occasional ticket. Which SC holder knows now which games they can't attend and so which friends will be able to go.

The scheme will result in people putting tickets on the ticket exchange with the result we get more 'tourists' and less support from the crowd.

A reprisal for last year's protests ?

Not sure if anyone else has had this issue – got one of my mates to set up a City account just in case he could go to a game. He created it yesterday but still hasn’t received a supporter number. I thought it was meant to come through instantly? Any help would be appreciated!

Ring the ticket office. By the time it’s sorted he won’t be eligible and he’ll have saved himself a few quid.

We’re the same, it’s a bit of an unwritten agreement, nobody takes any payment for league matches, the seats are filled with people we know and we all benefit at some point.
There are some suggesting that you need to stipulate the matches now, that can’t be right surely?

I've emailed City this morning, mentioning that I may have a problem at the turnstile with my non NFC phone, so I'll update on this thread when they reply to me.
Just a quick update to my previous post.
I had no reply to my email last week,so I thought I would drive to the ticket office as I live just a couple of miles away.
First of all,the ticket office has temporarily relocated to a portakabin ,just next to The Joie Stadium, right at the end of the bridge over Alan Turing Way on that side.
I had a quick chat with a helpful young guy on the counter.
They are aware there is an issue with some people not having NFC on their smartphone, so they are working on a fix which will probably be a barcode/QR code for those that need it.
An email to confirm this will be sent out as soon as the update is available.
So watch this space.

Edit. Because of where the new portakabin is situated,I found it easier to park at Asda and then just walk across
Ashton New Road to the Joie Stadium.

I originally (and naively) thought these changes were positive but it's clear they aren't.

It's now become clear that you can only pre-select up to three non-paid members in advance and you can't transfer your ticket to another season card holder. If I've not been able to attend then I've usually given first refusal to Ducado, who sat next to me, and vice versa, and one of us would take a family member or mate. Can't do that now. Even if someone has a supporter number, you can't transfer a ticket to them if they're not one of the 3 people on your list.

When City Matters first started back in 2018, the issue of empty seats came up from the start. We worked with the club to suggest ways of getting ticket holders to transfer or exchange their tickets and I think these have worked. Yet the club has introduced measures that will increase empty seats again.

As usual they've not thought things through properly and used a sledgehammer to crack a nut. And, as usual, they'll probably end up rowing back on this at some point because they'll realise they've fucked up.

Excuse my ignorance, but am I right in saying that if I can’t go to a game, and in the past for example I’d let my son take his girlfriend and I’d just transfer my seat to him in the ticket account, I can no longer do this?

Correct, unless his girlfriend has a supporter number and is one of the 3 people in your non-member group.

It's the way this has been communicated (or hasn't been properly communicated more precisely) that's the problem. It doesn't surprise me one little bit as the club's comms are absolutely piss poor, but this looks sneaky rather than amateurish.
