"If you are worried about losing your expensive phone, you can get a cheap second hand one with NFC to get into the ground for £10"

and your response was

"They are upwards of £150 plus running costs."

No reference to that being about brand new phones. It's also a complete lie as it was already worked out earlier in the thread that you can get a brand new one for about £75.

So you were needlessly obnoxious when someone offered a cheap solution in good faith, you were dishonest and clear as fucking mud.

PS. Just in case anyone else is reading @Corky's lies. No you don't have to pay for a sim card, you can get a pay as you go sim card with 0 credit for free, and that's all you need.

I picked you up on the £10 phone which was clearly incorrect as you don't understand how ebay auction works, but make out it is me talking bollocks which is typical of NPD.

The last phone I saw being quoted on here was "Tesco Mobile do a Samsung Galaxy A12" at "only £11 a month" which was actually £170 to buy. I didn't see the the £75 model, hardly a lie if I don't read close to 500 pages.

Sims stop working after 6 months if you don't pay to use them on pay as you go on common ones like O2 but some are as little as 90 days, and that doesn't include incoming calls, so you have to pay.

Was curious how much you can actually buy one for on Ebay and there are literally dozens of these things which have sold for under $20. Older model smartphones (which will work for the purposes of scanning a ticket even without a sim) are dirt cheap these days.

Since I first bought a mobile phone I must be on my sixth one at least. So when all these things we need in life are forced onto a bloody phone, passport, covid pass, means of buying stuff and so on, what happens if the store all our life phone in it is broken, stolen or just dies? We then have to download everything again into a new one. Someone will now reply about backing it up, memory cards blah blah but it's all just hassle after hassle and expense piled onto expense for something that's supposed to make life easier. That's before we come to being hacked, some bugger jamming signals maliciously, phone outages, no wi fi signal, which in and around our stadium is all the time. The answer from some kind souls is "Stay at home then." Thanks but if the majority of us still alive had stayed at home years ago, you wouldn't now have a club to go and support with your new all dancing and singing technology.

Well no email yet, but all of sudden this evening both my seasoncards were ok to download, just had to choose the right one form each accounts login and once selected that greyed bit turned black/darker and clicking on it added them both to the same phone in the Apple wallet (one by one obviously after logging off and logging in from the second account). Now hopefully they work on the day!

Thanks for the tip off. Just checked mine again and it's worked this time.

At the risk of opening a can of worms, we've been using phones to get into concerts and events for years here and its 1000% non-controversial (and much easier) from what I can tell. How is this possibly a big deal?

If you read the posts you can see what the issue is. Comments such as ‘some little shit in the office thought this up’ and ‘why weren’t we consulted’ tells you all you need to know. People somehow think that as they support the team and have done for years, the club owes them when the reality is the club is a business that needs to move with the times. No one has the same over emotional reaction when the pub only accepts card or you need to use your phone to get through the airport.

Jesus. We have now moved onto phones getting hacked and people jamming signals round the stadium! Replacing a lost phone and getting it back up and running is easier and quicker than replacing a lost SC.

Another comment on how someone has been going for years and nothing should ever progress because they don’t like change. I’ve had a season ticket for 30 years and don’t have anywhere near the same level of entitlement. They club are literally putting tickets onto a mobile phone, in line with what everyone else is doing. Why do you think this is happening globally? It’s because it’s easier and more convenient plus better for the environment.

Quick question I have nfc and Google pay with my season ticket on it my phone is a Samsung galaxy A20e will I be able to use this at stadium as seen a few posts saying only certain models work??
