Seasoncard - 2021/22

That is an auction for a 2nd phone, and the price goes up in auctions. They are upwards of £150 plus running costs.

£150 - did you mean £15? You can buy them straight up without an auction for 40, the price isn't going beyond that. A decent bit of ebay bidding and it'll be under 20.

I really don't know why you're trying to convince people a second hand 7 year old phone costs £150 but it's bollocks.

Running costs!?!! Charging a phone isn't running costs. You don't need a contract to use nfc.

Picking up a dirt cheap, second hand nfc enabled phone is a very viable solution for anyone who doesn't want to take their main phone to the match. Spreading misinformation and lies about the cost of one doesn't help anyone.

Glad it's not just me. Hopefully we'll all be sorted soon, I don't fancy trying to get it fixed on the day of the Norwich match.

I'll update you if I get an email or manage to figure out how to download them.
Well no email yet, but all of sudden this evening both my seasoncards were ok to download, just had to choose the right one form each accounts login and once selected that greyed bit turned black/darker and clicking on it added them both to the same phone in the Apple wallet (one by one obviously after logging off and logging in from the second account). Now hopefully they work on the day!

CoMS was one of the first stadiums to use electronic turnstiles, who'd have thought 20 years ago you could get into the stadium without a man behind the window tearing off your ticket stub and operating the barrier. You will get your ticket and you will get into the stadium v Norwich, so don't panic.
I went to see Stoke play at the weekend and they still have a man at the turnstile, but he just nods as you point your barcode at the scanner. Seemed a bit superfluous if you ask me, but there you go!

At the risk of opening a can of worms, we've been using phones to get into concerts and events for years here and its 1000% non-controversial (and much easier) from what I can tell. How is this possibly a big deal?
UK has more mobile phone connections per 100 people than the US so little old England may well yet get through this unscathed.

If you look back over some of the previous 4500 posts you'll see why people are reluctant to trade in a simple tried and trusted system for one they don't percieve as an upgrade.

Cheers for the info mate, but "get one"?

Give over.

Don't assume anyone has the money, time or inclination to buy a new phone on account of a situation which has been foisted upon them with no notice.
Maybe I was a bit abrupt with that and my apologies, but you can get a working second hand iPhone 6 on eBay for about £35. It’s either that, getting a printer or getting to the stadium early and queueing. Not being funny but if you can afford a ST, a one off purchase for £35 shouldn’t be too far out of reach and you’ll probably find it’s quite useful for a lot of other things as well, including your Covid pass which you may well need for lots of things in the future. A compatible android phone might be even cheaper but I don’t know much about them. The other alternative is to sack it off and stay at home if you feel that strongly about being forced into buying one.

You said they were a tenner and got it wrong, auctions start at 99p doesn't mean that is the price. You are just being obnoxious as you got it badly wrong.

I was talking about £150 for a new one rather than buying something second hand which is probably faulty and you have little come back if it is, and guaranteed the battery takes little charge - 7 years old and expect it to work fine? I take it you need a sim, and they tend to stop working if you don't pay to use them in a six month period hence there will be some cost for that at least.

Did you get in the Everton game with your phone? Thought not.
