Seasoncard - 2021/22

New question, lol.

Just tried to set up an account for my mate‘s 10 year old son however it won’t allow me to register him as says he’s not old enough when I put his date of birth in.

How the fuck am I supposed to transfer a ticket to him then?
You transfer to the adult who accompanies him.

And that's a good thing? Another reason I don't want to use it is because it's yet another attempt to track me and there's simply no reason to do so or for me to allow it.

My physical ticket gets me in and the club know what entrance I've gone in and what time I entered. United were even using that small amount of data to contact fans who they identified as coming in late regularly. If City did that I'd report them to the ICO over improper use of my personal data. I asked the club about how the new system affected the data they held about me and got a non-answer answer.

I have a choice over how my personal data is used and my choice is not to share any more of that than I have to.
Also when it does go wrong everything could be affected. City cannot even get a simple thing like this right, if everything is stored on our phones I would expect City to fuck my phone up in there cack handed way and be denied access to my cash, travel everything.
There is a great story where a French woman was declared dead by the courts. Even though she is very much alive French bureaucracy cannot be changed and despite still everything legally she is dead.
City = French bureaucracy

Superb and spot on. Those that accept this are immune to what is happening here. When the majority on here started supporting our club we paid game by game with coins and the club didn't have a clue who would turn up nor what our names were. Even with Season Tickets and eventually Seasoncards, all they gleaned were our names, ages and where we lived. Now they want us to be a small part of some big business analytics experiment where it can only be a matter of time before our movements are tracked and no doubt our preferences noted. How long before the stadium is cash free and even card free and we are expected to be dictated to in what is offered for sale and how we pay.

In short, anyone on here who is naive enough to think our team gives a fuck about match attending fans anymore seriously needs to get a grip. We are becoming almost an inconvenience in our presence and administration and other than those that attend corporate it can only be another generation at most before we see screens around the stadium showing faces of global fans watching on PPV streams. We had a small glimpse during the pandemic of screens showing fans at home and you can almost guarantee that's where we will eventually head.

"Christ, fans at the stadium, that's just so yesterday" I can here the youth of tomorrow saying.
Re the stadium being cash free, Liverpool have introduced that this season. Every transaction will be by debit or pre loaded card.
Once they find you don't spend anything at the club shop or food/drink outlets you may get a thank you for your support but letter

You misunderstand me, I am totally opposed to it, my response was to those who think it's a great idea. As I've said many times just because some people think this technology is great I don't have to and it shouldn't be forced on me or anybody else.

The club have just e mailed me again to remind me my ticket is ready to download. Yes I know that, they have already taken two payments for it. I'm sitting here pondering what to do next. I could just sit here and not download it. They have my money. Eventually they'll cancel it I'm sure. I don't like anything to do with this. They won't care of course, im just a customer number, a luddite stuck in the past, as even some of our own fans say, "Stay at home then!" We're becoming everything we hated, but I guess that's a price you have to pay for success and investment. I should be grateful and I am, but part of me dies a little each season too.

And that's 100% exactly where this is going. I'm SS3 normally, getting cheap football and spend almost nothing in that stadium. I am in effect the customer on the long standing cheap tariff and City will eventually want me and others like me out. They'll gradually introduce mechanisms that create a situation that makes it so difficult to sustain being a Legacy Fan. Remember the cat truly got out of the bag with this in summer and we offer very little financially to CFG the business. As a business I can understanding their profiteering philosophy but what I detest is that they guise this methodology under the cloak of being a caring football club. A club where fans are not consulted and a club where customer services are outsourced to the cheapest gig in town.

Wait until they get an application for a £299 renewal. They will look to see what he spent last season in the shop and at the kiosks and then quietly press delete.

So, let me get this right, I can transfer both mine and my son’s ticket to the same friend?
As far as I can see, every child is going to be on an adults phone. My son is 20, and has downloaded his onto his phone. But it’s still showing in my account as downloadable to my phone. So I assume I could have put him in my wallet if necessary. But someone with a child might know more than me?

Spot on, people can't see it but season by season they become more autocratic and don't want to hear our points of view, in spite of all these surveys they send out. They do as they want anyway so I'm not sure what the point is of sending them.

When I chose which football club to support many years ago I chose City because they had something United didn't seem to have. My dad wasn't interested in football so I had no influence on my choice. City had just been promoted and we had a great team in the making. Bell, Lee, Sumnerbee, Young, Coleman, an exciting team. United had Best, Charlton, Busby, all the glamour and glitz and were successful. I read an article written by Malcolm Allison and even as a kid it resonated with me. How he wanted to build the club, make it more successful, get more kids wearing City scarves to school than United , I was hooked. In those days I'd go to City when they were at home and not being allowed to away games I'd go to the odd United game with mates who supported them, but it never felt right. They tried to get me to convert to the dark side but it was always City for me. Even in the darkest days I never regretted my choice, I just wished we had some bloody success now and then. Now we have success beyond my wildest dreams but something has died.
