This is it. My Everton ticket had a barcode on it so although my phone didn't have NFC it worked. Somebody uploaded a screenshot of their season ticket and there is no barcode just the hold to the reader NFC signal. I have to now buy a phone with it on.

That doesn't make sense, if he has deferred why has he felt the need to get a phone.

It must be about money. In the end there will be very few ticket staff if any and less postal costs. Of course us poor sods will have to keep on upgrading the devices needed to use the new technology everytime they change it.

No it didn't work that way, they just added the code stored on the card to the list of codes that the turnstile allowed through. The thing is you can buy blank writeable cards from China and use a mobile phone to program it, hence theoretically being able to clone a card. The people who developed the system we had are saying do not use it.
 
anybody tried cancelling the season card deferral seems no way online and tried for hours and hours trying to get through to customer services???
