Seasoncard Renewal thread 2016/17 - Prices Frozen

Thanks @urban genie. What are the views like?

right on the corner flag so decent view last season tended to have most standing. I am right on the back row and the disabled section is right behind me there has been no complaining about the view. good thing with our ground is if you have time you can walk round the concourse from east lvl 1 and have a look, thats what we who moved from the east stand 8 yaars ago did because of the price, wandered
round had a look liked the view and relocated

Not bad. I thought they'd put in a reduction with the giant TV revenue money coming in as good will to the fans. But still, not bad.

I don't think there was any chance of a reduction and but for a poor season on the pitch I suspect there would've been a rise rather than a freeze. If City had played anywhere near their potential the ticket sales would've reflected it so playing disinterested shit has probably cost the club a lot of money

Not sure what to make of this.

Have the club, Soriano et al, seen that many blues are at breaking point and that they couldn't afford to risk another increase given the recent public discontent about prices nationally and now at City - and the backlash that would bring?

Glad there has been a freeze, but it's still not enough IMO. Even a small reduction would've been a huge positive, that would've made no dent whatsoever in the club's overall turnover but would've made an enormous difference to the supporters.

This still doesn't show me that we're not going down the route of monetising the support at any cost, and I don't think anyone should be fooled by it.

The least we could've hoped for is a binning of Platinum. Save a lot of people money and would cease making a mockery or the loyalty points system. Blues who sacrifice platinum to save money shouldn't feel screwed and that their loyalty counts for nothing because other blues have double points on every ticket because they can afford to spend more. I'm not more loyal than the blue next to me because I can afford the £50. It's needlessly divisive and is just outright cynical monetising.

I think that's something in particular that we should be pushing for now. No justification for it. It's more or less a "pay the extra £50 or lose your place in the pecking order for tickets" fee.

Still a lot of work to do IMO. We shouldn't be satisfied with this. The rags have had season ticket prices frozen for 5 consecutive years now and have a no interest monthly instalment direct debit payment for their season tickets just like us, for perspective.

There's still more we should be pushing for, IMO, and certainly now as a national effort because the price of football is without doubt a national issue. Pointing to the often disgraceful prices Arsenal fans are expected to pay is scant justification, and it happens all too often.
I agree. I think we should keep on pushing the club to reduce SC prices and tell us (do a big media thing) that those reduced prices are here to stay for the next five years, and bin off "Platinum" for good.

We're such an apathetic set of fans. For years we've just put up with constant, unfair, way above inflation, price hikes and seen many mates and family members fall away from our support yet we just go along with it and don't go against the club. A section of our support can't even have people say one bad word about the club. But having a full blown rant about the club in disappointment doesn't mean that you care any less about the club than those who won't have a bad word said. There's no correlation in that sort of thing.

I think we should keep pressuring the club into lower ticket prices in years to come! They're getting £81m a year for just existing, they've done no work at all to get that. They could give all of our SCs away for free and still be well up on profits with this TV deal.

It used to be March under Swales and then the price went up

So prices frozen and only 45 quid to watch a CL quarter final. Not such a rip off club after all.
Football, including City, has been a rip-off for a decade!

Don't forget the reduction on CL 1/4 Kids tickets making it £50 for a adult and kid, with a free food voucher throwen in (even if it's only for chips and a drink that's got to be worth about £5)

These ripping off Arabs can keep ripping me off all day long, more so if there giving me a qoulity product

Anyone can roll up to the local boozer on cabaret night and see a tribute act and pay £5 a head but if you want to see the real deal at a stadium or areana then you have to pay the going rate.. I think we pay under the going rate tbh
